“Wheelhouse” is the smallest opening-week sum with a non-instrumental
studio set since "Mud on the Tire"s debuted atop the country
chart with 86,000 10 years ago. Paisley scored his biggest weekly sales
figure when "5th Gear" blew in with 197,000 in 2007. By the end
of August “Wheelhouse” had fallen off the Top 25 albums having sold 254,000
copies. For the chart week of Oct 5, 2013 it stood at #38 on Billboard Top

Brad Paisley pulls out all
the stops on his adventurous new album, WHEELHOUSE, which includes appearances

About: The Dixie Chicks
- The band is composed of founding members (and
sisters) Martie Erwin Maguire
and Emily Erwin Robison, and
lead singer Natalie Maines.
- The band formed in 1989 in Dallas, Texas, and
was originally composed of four women performing bluegrass and country
music, busking and touring the bluegrass festival circuits and small
venues for six years without attracting a major label.
- After the departure of Laura Lynch she was replaced
by Natalie Maines as lead singer, and after a slight change in their
repertoire, the Dixie Chicks soon achieved commercial success, beginning
in 1998 with hit songs "There's Your Trouble" and "Wide
Open Spaces".
- The Dixie Chicks are the highest selling female group in any genre. They hold the
distinction of being the only country group in history and the only female
group of any genre to earn back-to-back Diamond Awards signifying 10 million in record sales.
- Discography: Wide Open Spaces ( Jan. 23, 1998) / Fly (Aug. 31, 1999) / Home (Aug. 27, 2002) / Top of the World (Live) (Nov. 25, 2003) /

said, "we don't want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that
the President of the United States [George W. Bush] is from Texas". The
positive reaction to this statement from the British audience contrasted
with the boycotts that ensued in the U.S., their albums were discarded in
public protest.
- As of 2012, the Dixie Chicks had won 13 Grammy Awards, including five
in 2007 for “Taking the Long Way”, which received the Grammy Award for

Dates start Oct 26, 2013 (Vancouver) to Nov. 10, 2013 (London, ON – Budweiser Gardens). Craven review (July 13, 2013): The Dixie Chicks still rule the roost (with photos + setlist)

eventual No. 1 peak) with “Sideways” four years ago.
- RISER,
a project
due this Autumn
that stands as his most personal to date. Written and recorded in the year
following his father’s death, the album draws its title from “I’m A
Riser,” a song about resilience and determination. “I’m A Riser” works as a commentary on spiritual, personal and
societal recommitment, but it also applies to the competitive battlefield
of the music industry. It’s particularly appropriate for an album about
rejuvenation delivered by Dierks. >> Video
