Charlie Worsham with RUBBERBAND (first released in Aug 2013)

the acting bug. The singer appeared in an episode of the hit Fox TV show,
‘Bones,’ playing, not surprisingly, a country singer. Worsham was in Season 9

Lane and Joe Lickteig) moved 12-8.

rounded out the Top 10 with a 11-10 hop.
Canada’s Domino

BLUEGRASS NEWS
Bluegrass phenom Rhonda Vincent, a seven-time IBMA
Female Vocalist of the Year, was admitted to a hospital with scurvy today after
apparently subsisting solely on biscuits since 2000. When she signed a
sponsorship deal with the Martha White flour company at the turn of the
millennium, Vincent reportedly did not understand that the company intended to
pay her only in free product for the duration of her professional life. But the
singer’s Midwestern ethos of letting nothing go to waste kicked in, and the
rest is history.
Rhonda Vincent also caught a crook with hidden camera. A
convicted thief, who once worked for a premier tour bus company, admitted to
the Channel 4 I-Team that he "made mistakes" when he stole money from
a safe in the tour bus of bluegrass music star Rhonda Vincent.

About Sherry Kennedy: Based in Calgary, Alberta, she hails from Fort Macleod (west of the larger community of Lethbridge) is a singer, single mother to 2 children, a highly accomplished recording artist, entertainer (Image) and vocal coach (graphic), extending her talents beyond the ordinary.
She writes: "I am addicted to acrylic abstract. Whenever
I put on music, I let myself go and all of a sudden a life begins to take form
on canvas. I love it!!" Check out her Facebook Gallery Photos
Kennedy, whose
first music teacher was Daisy Young of Fort Macleod, is comfortable in a range
of genres, from gospel to blues, rock to jazz and country to musical theatre.
According to her
website: From rave reviews for her early recordings, to hitting the European
Charts in 2010, Sherry has enjoyed a successful 15 year recording career. Her
most recent efforts are being heard on international radio and in the CD
collections of music lovers in more than a dozen countries including Australia,
France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Norway, England, the U.S. and Japan. Her songs
have found success time and time again, including the songs "Rockies in the Rain", #1 on the
"European Country Music Association" charts and "My My My" hitting #4 respectively for more than 40
weeks. The "Ordinary Woman"
release was chosen in the ECMA top 100 albums of the year.
Congrats Sherry!
The “long-awaited” new album LITTLE SECRET was recorded in Nashville in fall 2012 and the tracks immediately got attention upon release in more than a dozen countries world wide. The 12 song CD includes 5 of Sherry's own material Think of Me, >> “Don't Touch Me Please”, “The Legend of Rainbow Powers”, “Little Secret” and “Do You Love Him”. There are also some great cover tunes and a couple of tunes written by Nashville songwriters, Tom Paden and Richard Fagin.
This a high energy
Country Pop album. The vocal and music production are excellent. This album
goes from sweet to tender with a few traditional influences and then onto edgy
power to powerhouse.
“Little
Secret" (originally released 5 Nov 2012; Label: Sheaken Records) was
recorded in Nashville and produced by “Magic Man” Mark Moseley
(Trisha Yearwood, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson). The album production includes a
stellar band of session musicians including: multiple award winner and Grammy
winning Brent Mason (electric guitar),
five time Grammy winner Gordon Mote (piano), Tommy Wells (drums and
percussion), Duncan Mullins (bass guitar), Larry Beaird (acoustic guitar),
Wanda Vick (fiddle and mandolin), Rodger Morris (keyboards) and Leanne
Steinhauer, Melissa Duvall and Billy Davis provided background vocals for the
title cut.
The collaboration
took 10 days in the studio in Nashville. Kennedy was thrilled with the creative process - “The process was amazing,” Kennedy said. Kennedy also took part in a photo
shoot that took place in an abandoned car wash owned by a woman who turned the
building into a studio for graffiti artists. The resulting photos (image) are seen on the attractive CD cover.
“We decided we were going to pick five of my
songs, and then we would pick some of my favourite cover songs.”
Kennedy’s songs on
the CD are the title track "Little Secret", "Think of Me",
"Don’t Touch Me Please", "Do You Love Him" and "The
Legend of Rainbow Powers". The latter is tied to Kennedy’s youth in Fort
Macleod. Rainbow Powers was a woman from Granum who was well-known in Fort
Macleod for her colourful appearance and the candy she would hand out to
children.
The first single
from the release titled "Think Of Me" received air play across Canada
in 20 plus markets on "commercial country radio". Kennedy and Moseley
worked together for three months in preparation for recording the songs.
Sherry and friends
delivered “captivating and electric performances” on February 7 and 8, 2013 at
the Engineered Air Theatre in the EPCOR Centre for Performing Arts. The event
was her CD Release Party which marked
Kennedy’s tenth and her first country album to be released in Canada.
“I think the songs I’ve written are more
rootsy country, or blues,” Kennedy said. “That’s kind of my roots as well.”
The CD Release
Party also featured Calgary musicians Derek Stoll (bass/musical director), Dave
Hamilton (electric guitar/acoustic guitar), Keith Day (keyboards), Gavin
Sorochan (drums), Denis Dufresne (acoustic guitar/mandolin) and Barbara
Olorenshaw (fiddle). Lisa Ryan, Gemira McClary, Maureen MacDonald and Chris
Herard lent their talents as back up vocalists, while Artists Elite lit up the
stage with some fancy footwork....Read Full Review

- Country’s Most Voracious Youth Market? You Might Be Surprised….As country
music’s audience skews younger than at any time in its history, what city
has the genre’s most fervent 20-something fans? The obvious choices might
include Nashville, recognized as country’s business center; Dallas, a
stronghold in the center of cowboy proud Texas; or Los Angeles, where KKGO
— and KZLA before it — has frequently billed itself as “America’s

Could 'Nashville' production
be leaving for Austin? Executives
from the ABC television series "Nashville" have explored moving the
production to other states, amid ongoing talks with local officials about an economic
incentive package for a third season. There's little doubt that if ABC picks up
"Nashville" for a third season, the combined economic incentives from
state and local government will be less lucrative than the show received for
the first two seasons. Read More at The Tennessean

A fourth Volume of music from ABC's Nashville is on its way, according to Big Machine Records,
which revealed the new collection’s track list (April 25). An 11-track standard
version of The
Music of Nashville: Season 2, Volume 2 will be released to all
digital retailers Tuesday, May 6, while a 21-track deluxe version will be
available exclusively at Target. See track list for the Target version at Country Weekly. The announcement comes on
the heels of ABC-TV’s Nashville: On the Record, which aired Wednesday night
(April 23). Immediately following the special, a flurry of sales propelled the
three previously released Nashville soundtracks into the Top 15 on iTunes’
country albums chart.
"This close." That's how close Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman
said the harmony-driven vocal group is to being finished with its much anticipated new album.
The collection is the follow-up to the group's platinum-selling TORNADO.
"I am so excited I can hardly stand it," she

The band worked on the project with producer Jay
Joyce, who also produced "Tornado." Schlapman said the music sounds
similar but is "a little bit of an evolution into what could possibly
happen next."
