ALBUMS
Caddy Copper has released two albums.
The first titled SNAPSHOT, was a 13
track set, self released on Feb 11, 2014.
She
tour the UK to promote it and the album received airplay on CMR Nashville and
BBC Radio Shropshire featured “Get Onboard” and “This Old Guitar”
"Snapshot is a great new album by Caddy
Cooper, 100% original and fits nicely in the Contemporary Folk/Country genre of
today." wrote Lee Williams CEO
Country Music Radio, Nashville CMA Broadcaster of the Year 2013 & President
of the BCMAwards
This
year on March 2, 2015 she released a 15 track follow up OUTSIDE THE WIRE (Amazon UK – UK iTunes) which was well received.
It was described as an “awesome mix of blues,
bluegrass and country” and that “it
is clear that Caddy is a hugely talented writer" Listen to the “title
cut”
Our
Top Picks: *** Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter, ** Get Onboard , ** Sunshine Hot,
* Far To Go
Take
a listen to “Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter”
We love this track!
Lighthouse
Keeper's Daughter is an historic ballad and was inspired by the upcoming ANZAC centenary.
Cooper explores the tale of Fay Howe, the daughter of a Lighthouse Keeper
living on Breaksea Island who purportedly used semaphore to translate messages
to family and loved ones from ANZAC troops docked in King George's Sound,
Albany. The story goes that Fay fell in love with an ANZAC soldier who
tragically died on the beach at Gallipoli.
"I was really moved by this story and felt
compelled to share it in musical form as there is something intrinsically
tangible in the intimate nature of it. So many loved and lost at this time when
international communication was slow and hazy at best and (in my opinion) their
stories and strength helped to shape our cultural identity. I find the
generation who lived through this period utterly inspiring." shared Caddy.

Critical
reception for Caddy Cooper’s Outside The Wire:
For The Country Record (Andy Macbride) wrote: After
my first listen of ‘Under The Wire’, it’s clear to see the various musical
styles that influence Caddy’s music. I feel like I’m in a honky-tonk when I’m
listening to ‘Get Onboard’ whereas I’m taken to a chilled acoustic set in a
local bar in ‘My World and Everything In It’ then all the way to New Orleans
with the bluesy ‘Last Night’s Lover’.
The
aforementioned track ‘Get Onboard’ kicks of the album and gets you clicking
your fingers and tapping your feet....Caddy’s vocals are impressive, and
although she possesses a powerful vocal range, its beautifully controlled and
what you’re left with is a sound as smooth as the cream on my hot chocolate....‘Lighthouse
Keepers Daughter’ is the perhaps the most folksy track on the album, adopting a
more nautical theme, a different story of a love between a soldier and his
lover....Overall there are 15 tracks of a very consistent good quality....The
thing I admire about Caddy, is that I’ve rarely heard someone so utterly
comfortable within her sound, and how the delivery sounds so natural, un-rushed
and all together beautiful...... Fans of blues and country will enjoy this
album….Read More Test Drive the album on Spotify
The Blues Music Blog wrote: ….From the opening country shuffle of "Get On
Board" to the rollicking blues of "I Be Leaving You" and the
acapella/doo-wop track "I Love You In the Morning", Caddy Cooper has
combined all the elements of country, blues and folk roots in an album that
shines from start to finish. Definitely and "all-killer, no-filler"
effort, Caddy's crisp and eloquent vocals combined with a HOT backup band that
includes searing and twangy guitar licks, a shuffling back beat, "front porch"
harmonica, complimenting backup harmonies and 2 stand out duets with Paul
Carella. Caddy's songwriting skills are exceptional, well crafted and tell
stories that will make you sit up and listen.

the seams with songs designed to melt, engage and enthral the listener.
The treasure trove of glorious tracks effortlessly moves through a haze of late night lounge jazz blues onto more feet shuffling rock n’ roll, always paying the utmost respect to the style of the traditional songbook....OUTSIDE THE WIRE is a restless, feverish and marvellous album release by a talented artist determined to buck the trend.
