ABOUT Maja Francis
Maja Francis has established herself as one of Sweden's most beloved artists, praised as "a daughter of Kate Bush, Cyndi Lauper, and Tori Amos dressed in pink cowboy boots."
In the pink soft emotional world of Maja Francis, to be vulnerable is to be powerful. Her debut single “Last Days of Dancing” in 2015 was the first in the collection of diamonds, created together with Veronica Maggio, Petter Winnberg and David Wikberg.

After releasing “Space Invades My Mind” a duet with Veronica Maggio, Maja Francis released her EP “COME COMPANION” in 2016. That EP clocked up well over 5 million streams on Spotify and saw Maja achieve high profile acclaim from the likes of Noisey, Popjustice, NYLON, Stereogum, Clash and many more.
With her unique voice and ability to craft songs that touch our deepest emotions, she made a big breakthrough in 2021 with her POP debut album, "A PINK SOFT MESS." The album, produced alongside Johannes Runemark and David Wikberg, became an instant success and was nominated for both a Grammis and the Nordic Music Prize. It garnered significant attention from both Swedish and international press, marking Maja as one of the most unique and courageous voices of our time.

Maja’s pop single “Mama” saw her collaborating with close friends Klara and Johanna Söderberg of First Aid Kit. The video premiered in Holler Country Magazine and was performed live before a million viewers at the Nobel Prize ceremony on Swedish television.

The second single from her debut album, “Anxious Angel,” gained significant attention when it was featured in the final scene of the Netflix series “Love & Anarchy,” becoming the most Shazamed song in Germany at the time.

Maja’s video for “PMS Party” and her ‘emo linedance’ created a buzz, establishing a new sing-along anthem for PMS when performed live on one of Sweden’s oldest stages and TV shows.

Other notable singles like “This Woman’s Work,” “Tiny Tornados,” and “Lava Love” further solidified Maja’s position as the emo queen in the intersection of pop, singer-songwriter, and Americana genres.

Her unique style impressed American artist Sierra Ferrell, who invited Maja to open up for her in Sweden in 2022.
After a successful 2023, which included participating in the TV show “Så Mycket Bättre,” a sold-out summer tour, and serving as a special guest on First Aid Kit’s European tour, Maja has continued to rise.

In 2024, Maja Francis followed up her successful year with new material. In March she released ”Hello Cowboy,” the first single from her upcoming album, that was added to Swedish national radio P3 and P4 and the biggest digital country radio channel in Sweden ”Go Country”. Followed by singles ”Manic Pixie Dream Girl” (tagged Pop) and ”Low”, the latter also added to Swedish national radio P3.

Maja Francis stands out as a bold and authentic voice in modern music, with a career marked by heartfelt songwriting, evocative performances, and a distinctive blend of pop and country influences.

Maja returned with her highly anticipated second album ”HELLO COWBOY” which dropped September 6th 2024.

Here, she takes her flirtation with country music to a whole new level: "On my last album, I just dipped my toes in, but now it's country up to my waist," Maja herself said. The album's singles, like the title track "Hello Cowboy," the dreamy "Manic Pixie Dream Girl," and the emotional "Low," have already sparked great anticipation ahead of the full release.

With her characteristic ability to blend playfulness and depth, drama and tenderness, Maja continues to push the boundaries of modern pop music.

With her single "Hello Cowboy" behind her Maja Francis embarks on an extensive tour with several stops around Sweden this autumn.
With her unique voice and equally bold and compelling songwriting, Maja Francis has attracted both national and international attention.
Judging by the already released title track "Hello Cowboy," we have something truly special to look forward to.
With this, Maja takes a bold step out and finds her way to the heart of country music in Nashville. And starting in October, she follows up the upcoming album release with her extensive autumn tour "Hello Cowboy Tour 2024" with stops around Sweden.
