NASHVILLE,
Tenn.
– Rising singer-songwriter Grace Humphries delivers an
emotionally charged performance on her newest single, “Wanted You To
Know,” available today on all streaming platforms. Celeb Secrets Country exclusively said,
"Grace’s soft-yet-bold vocals paired with her warm acoustic guitar create
a sense of intimacy that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. But it’s
her clever, cut-deep lyrics — full of raw contradictions — that make
this song sting in the best way."
Grace recently wrapped up a Nashville media blitz on Today In Nashville and WSM Coffee, Country, and Cody.

“Wanted You To Know” is a strikingly honest ballad that dives into the tangled
emotions of heartbreak. Inspired by the complexities of modern relationships,
the song explores how love and resentment can coexist when things fall apart.
With raw vulnerability and delicate vocals, Grace paints a vivid picture of
emotional whiplash — the kind that comes when someone promises forever, only to
walk away the next day.
Grace
shares, “Since most of my songs are not based on personal experience, I never
know which story will inspire me next. For this song, I was inspired by how
some women on TikTok talked about their dating experiences. They shared that
right before their boyfriends broke up with them, they were love-bombed with
things like, ‘I can’t wait to get married,’ and ‘I’ll never leave you,’ etc.
That’s where the idea for the second verse came from: ‘You said you couldn’t
wait to say I do the day before I saw you out with someone new…’ The lyric ‘Our
pictures on the wall are torn’ changes to ‘I tried to fix those pictures torn’
in the final chorus. Similarly, the lyric ‘I’m happy and alone’ changes to ‘I’m
not happy, I’m alone.’ With these lyric changes, I wanted to encapsulate the
antithetical feelings of love and anger, and how they can coexist when going
through a hard breakup — whether that’s a breakup with a friend, romantic
partner, or family member.”
Known
for her heartfelt lyrics and soulful delivery, Grace Humphries continues to
carve a space for herself as one of today’s most compelling young artists.
“Wanted You To Know” follows on the heels of her previous releases and marks a
new chapter in her evolving artistry.

ABOUT GRACE HUMPHRIES
At just 17, The Austin, TX Hill Country-based Grace Humphries is already
effortlessly writing shockingly well crafted songs that artists twice her age
would envy.
It
started early, with baby Grace humming in her crib as an infant and piano
lessons followed at age 5, though the young musician is mostly self-taught. Her
mother, a Texas native, and Liverpool, UK expat father were
astounded with their daughters early-emerging talents and encouraged her
creativity at every turn. Grace and her older brother Liam bonded through music
in Ramona, California, where they were raised until Liam's devastating brain cancer
diagnosis. When Grace was 8 and Liam was just 10, the family lost Liam and
relocated to the Texas Hill Country. In the years that followed, Grace began
channeling her feelings into music and soon knew exactly what she wanted to do
in life.
Grace
is constantly creating music, in and out of the studio. She hears the melodies
in her head at school and at home, where she gets her ideas down via her small
home recording studio. In 2024 Grace shot through the ranks at the annual
All-State choir competition TPSMEA (Texas Private School Music Educators
Association) as First Soprano.
She
won TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) in 2020 with her
rendition of “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera, and also won in 2022 as a
soloist with her original composition, “I Am Found”. She cut her teeth
performing up to hour-long sets at Chamber of Commerce events, local farmers
markets as well as wineries and steakhouses.
In March of 2024, Grace had the amazing opportunity to travel to England
and spend a week recording at the famous Abbey Road Studios. She also
embarked on her first mini radio promotion that took her to Nashville and
Knoxville, Tennessee, as well as Atlanta, Georgia where she had the opportunity
to be a guest on WSM 650 Coffee, Country and Cody, WDVX The Blue Plate Special
and WRFG The Americana Garage with Steve Kilbride. Her most recent radio
promotion took her to Sonoma County in Northern California where she was Doug
Jayne's guest on KRCB 104.9 Sonoma County's NPR Station for an on-air interview
and live performance. She followed the on air with a live performance at the
Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol, CA to help raise funds for KRCB.
Grace
is currently an active member of the Worship Team at Church and sings in both
the adult ministries as well as the youth ministries. She is completing her
high school education through an online Classical Christian program. She
maintains a Merit Honors GPA.
Driven
by the natural determination and focus of a true born artist as well as from
the sense of loss she has experienced in her few short years, Grace creates
music to express the joy, fragility and beauty of life as well as uses that
music to connect to others. And even at the age of 17 she knows exactly
what she wants. “I just want to be happy doing what I love: storytelling and
performing,” she explains, “Writing music that is meaningful and connects with
people in a very real way.”
