Cyndi Thomson captures the magic of the holiday season with “Christmas in New York

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 31, 2025) - Country singer-songwriter Cyndi Thomson captures the magic and melancholy of the holiday season with her brand-new single “Christmas in New York,” out now on all streaming platforms. Co-written by Thomson with Heather Morgan, the wistful track paints a cinematic picture of love lost against the backdrop of the city that never sleeps. Snow falls, champagne flows, and Fifth Avenue sparkles - but for Thomson, joy is bittersweet without the one she loves beside her.

“‘Christmas in New York’ was written from that bittersweet place of missing someone during the holidays,” said Thomson of the tune. “It’s about love, loss, and the magic of a city that holds both. I hope it comforts anyone who’s ever spent Christmas with a memory instead of a person.”

Blending her signature emotional delivery with warm, classic production, “Christmas in New York” follows the release of Thomson’s version of 2005 Gary Allan hit “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful” - a song she co-wrote with Tommy Lee James, out September 19. With its release (which was followed by the release of an accompanying video), Thomson stepped back into her own words, offering her perspective as both the original writer and a woman who has lived through the trials and triumphs the song reflects.

Known for her soaring vocals and timeless storytelling, Thomson’s career began with a record-breaking debut in 2001, when her first single became the highest-charting debut by a female country artist at the time. In May, she released her most recent EP, Acres of Diamonds - a celebration of the life she built while away from the music scene.

About Cyndi Thomson:
Hailing from Georgia, Cyndi Thomson emerged onto the country music scene in the early 2000's, quickly securing a publishing deal with Sony ATV and a record contract with Capitol Records. She soared to stardom with her debut album, MY WORLD, and the hit single, "What I Really Meant to Say." However, beneath the veneer of success, Cyndi struggled with intense anxiety, ultimately choosing to step away.

Over the next several years she discovered a love for jewelry design and launched her very own collection, HAYBELLE CO. Now, on the brink of a musical comeback, Cyndi has recently released multiple new heartfelt tracks signifying a remarkable return to her roots and an exploration of new musical horizons. Her songs are deeper, her voice is stronger and her storytelling is more compelling than ever.
