UK CHART NEWS
Official UK Top 100 Singles Chart (Week Ending 19 October 2017)
13 October 2017 - 19 October  2017
Rockstar continues atop the singles chart for Post Malone and 21 Savage, with combined sales increasing 4.07% to 48,834, helped by a 10.15% lift in paid-for sales to 9,894 copies, and a 2.64% increase in sales-equivalent streams to 38,940.

Official UK Top 100 Albums Chart (Week Ending 19 October 2017)
13 October 2017 - 19 October 2017
Only the third artist album to sell more than 100,000 copies in a week thus far in 2017, Liam Gallagher's debut solo set, AS YOU WERE, outpaced the rest of the Top 15 combined and would be No.1 even if it had been released only on vinyl, so emphatic was its victory.
With sales of 102,660 copies, including 8,882 from streams (93,778 pure sales: CDs: 54,498 Downloads: 23,116 Vinyls: 16,164), it provided Gallagher, who turned 45 last month, with the ninth No.1 album of his career, the other eight being as frontman of Oasis between 1994 and 2010.

In her second frame last weeks No.1 Shania Twain with NOW fell (1-11, 5,704 sales; down 72%; 2-week total 25,800)
Glen Campbell with Adios fell 56-76 (1,300 sales estimated; 18-week estimated total 108,600)

Following the template of 2015's IF I CAN DREAM and 2016's THE WONDER OF YOU – both No.1s – the latest Elvis Presley offering comprises newly constructed recordings blending archive vocals with freshly coined orchestral stylings from The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
This time however, the album – whose title appears to be ELVIS CHRISTMAS (Amazon UK), although the OCC have gone with Christmas With Elvis & The RPO – has a seasonal twist, with the late king's advent audio adventures getting bespoke treatments. With still more than 10 weeks to Christmas the album can be excused its comparatively low debut position of No.22 (3,572 sales).

REVIEWS
(11 Oct 2017) Lady Antebellum - O2 Arena, London (Rating; 3 STARS) The Guardian
Lady Antebellum review – country superstars are cosy but cloying

Their slick, sentimental brand of country has taken a soulful turn with latest album Heart Break and the horn stamps of You Look Good add a sultry punch to the cloying niceness. But Lady Antebellum’s overzealous band – featuring two guitarists and a keyboardist – too often ride roughshod over the three-piece harmonies at the heart of their success, and it’s a relief when only Scott, Kelley, and Haywood on piano team up for the stripped-down Hurt....Support acts Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young guest on a cover of Shania Twain’s You’re Still the One. It’s all very cosy as Kelley repeatedly coos over pregnant Scott and she watches like an indulgent mother while he strides into the crowd during Love Don’t Live Here. But the scant recognition of the recent Las Vegas massacre is offhand and, in the light of that tragedy, the decision to play Good Time to Be Alive seems questionable….Read More The Guardian
Reader Comment:
The Lady A gig was precious little to do with country and the sound mix was appalling as it should be a vocal-led group. More schmaltz and MOR pop than country as per the reviewer's comments
I was at last nights concert It was a good show but marred by an appalling sound mix. They over amplified the band which meant vocals were lost in the melee of base rumble and distorted feedback. This was due to the sound engineers rather than the O2 accoustics as reviewers at other venuse mention the same thing. I thought the best bits were the more accoustic numbers which because no band were distortion free.
I felt for Kelsea Ballerini, her set was in my opinion destroyed by the bad sound making her sound like a shrill harpy trying to be heard above the over amplified band.

(12 Oct 2017) Pink regrets siding with Taylor Swift over her feud with Katy Perry, admitting she "should've just kept my mouth shut".
During an interview on U.K. radio station KISS FM back in August (17), Pink was asked whether she was "Team Katy or Team Taylor?" - referring to the singers' long-running feud.
"Taylor? Is that OK?” she answered. "You can’t win no matter what you say, anyway. Everyone wakes up offended."
And now, in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Pink has said she wishes she had never taken a side when presented with the question.
“I should’ve just kept my mouth shut, because I don’t believe that. I don’t care. But I felt rushed and I didn’t know what to do. And I paid for it, because then the next day: ‘Pink is Team Taylor,’” she said.
The 38-year-old star also reflected on how "snarky" feuds in the music industry have become in recent years.
"There were always these feuds between rock stars - I mean, if you like Oasis, there’s always a feud. But it’s gotten pretty bad. And we’re giving our power away by playing into it,” she mused.
Her remarks come after she previously urged Katy and Taylor to call time on their rivalry, after she and Christina Aguilera managed to do the same with their feud.
"It's just silly," she told British newspaper The Sun. "You know what, let the politicians be the nasty ones right now. We don't need to add to that. People need to be kind.

(15 Oct 2017) Taylor Swift held a secret listening party at her home in London to debut her new album.
The 27-year-old personally selected 100 fans to the event on Friday (13 Oct 2017), ahead of the release of her sixth studio album Reputation on 10 November (17).
According to the fans who attended the once-in-a-lifetime bash, Swift had stalked the fans on Twitter before extending the invitation to them. One fan even claimed the Shake It Off singer knew she'd previously been to one of 1989 World Tour dates, and wrote on Friday: "TAYLOR HAS BEEN STALKING ME ON TWITTER FOR A YEAR! SHE KNEW I WENT TO NASHVILLE FOR 1989! I CANT COPE WITH LIFE (sic)."
"How did I end up sitting on Taylor’s living room floor listening to her unreleased album with my best friends?" wrote another.
Those who were handpicked for the secret session not only got to listen to her highly-anticipated new album, but got to meet Swift and were given a gift of a snake keychain with engraved with the word "London", according to Billboard.com.
The Grammy Award winner has introduced fans to her new albums in similar secret sessions before, and held events in her places in London, Los Angeles, Nashville and New York City ahead of the release of 1989 in 2014.
The secret event is just one in a series of surprises that Swift has in store for British fans.
On Wednesday, the singer stunned young fan Lara by turning up to her house to deliver a gift.
