About: “When I sing, I don’t fear what people think because I am
so in tune with the music.”
For some people it takes a lifetime to figure out their passion. For Mary English it didn’t even take five years.
At the young age of three, Mary English started ballet and by the time she was eight years old she attended Charlotte Ballet school where she quickly developed a passion for dancing and acting.
She perfected her art while attending the Chautauqua Institute and Gelsey Kirkland summer intensives, Children’s Theatre’s Junior Performance Company and CPCC’s summer Theatre. At the age of fifteen, Mary English began working with Billy Hufsey (Days of Our Lives, Married With Children, The Young and The Restless) to continue strengthening her acting skills.
Adding to her life on stage, Mary English is a talented vocalist whose sound is an ambiguous mix of pop and feel good music. Working alongside Elliot James, original drummer from Hey Monday, the two create meaningful songs and videos to reflect her youthful style. “I draw a lot of inspiration from everything that becomes a set back as much as everything that propels me closer to my dream,” she explained.
Debuting her first single “Like a Dream” in October 2013 (iTunes), Mary English caught the
attention of MTV who continue to promote the song and video today.
Her POP single, “Lullably” (April 2014) followed by a
thread of additional singles such as tantalizing teen-love track “Promise“
(Feb 2015) was slated to lead to the release of an EP by the then pop
starlet.
Although young, Mary English is strong when it comes to her music.
“When I sing and write, I don’t fear what people think because I am so in tune
with the music.” For people who truly love music, it’s always all about the
music, and what Mary English has to offer is no exception.
