The 60th Annual Grammy Awards & Fashion

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on January 28, 2018 broadcast live on The CBS network from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It marked the first time since 2003 that the ceremony was held outside Los Angeles (where the Staples Center had been the home of the Grammys since 2004). James Corden returned as host.

The Grammys ceremony recognizes the best recordings, compositions and artists of the eligibility year, which ran from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017.

SUNDAY night's (Jan 28) GRAMMY telecast on CBS-TV dominated the evening's TV ratings battle, but still lost viewers on a year-to-year basis.
Among adults in the key, 18-49 demo, the multi-genre music awards show delivered 19.8 million viewers and a 5.9 rating, marking a 24% decrease from the 2017 GRAMMYS, which made Sunday's show the least-watched GRAMMY telecast since 2009, according to
ZAP2IT.

The 60th GRAMMY Awards were a huge night for both the winners and nominees attending the ceremony.
One of the night’s top country winners was Chris Stapleton, who took home all three of the awards he was nominated for.
Stapleton graciously accepted the award for Best Country Album during the show’s live telecast, thanking his tirelessly hard-working band and crew for their help along the way. “It’s a real joy to make music,” he concluded.
He beat out other nominees: Kenny Chesney's Cosmic Hallelujah, Lady Antebellum's Heartbreak, Little Big Town's The Breaker, and Thomas Rhett's Life Changes.
He picked up the trophy for Best Country Song for his current single, “Broken Halos,” which he co-wrote with Mike Henderson. “To win this with him means so, so much to me,” says Chris

During the pre-telecast event, Reba McEntire was awarded Best Roots Gospel Album for her project SING IT NOW: SONGS OF FAITH & HOPE. Sharing that she planned to “give it back to God,” the country icon was eternally grateful for the reception her album received. “Our job in the entertainment business is to heal hearts. That’s what God put me on this earth for, I know it is, with the music, and to help other people. Music is so healing,” she said. Also the “Sing It Now” singer gave mention to the recent loss of Bill Hearn, who was the head of the Capitol Christian Music Group record label that signed on to release Reba’s spiritual album. He passed away in December following a battle with cancer.

Reba has been nominated 15 times for a Grammy and won three. Her other wins were for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female for Whoever's In New England at the 29th Annual GRAMMY Awards (1986) and Best Country Vocal Collaboration for Does He Love You (Reba McEntire & Linda Davis) at the 36th Annual GRAMMY Awards (1993)

Mars provided the night's big upset, taking the album of the year trophy that most critics assumed would go to Lamar's rap tour de force, Damn.

The night's other pivotal moment was a tribute to the music-loving victims of the tragedies in Manchester and Las Vegas.
Handwritten notes bearing the names of the dead were projected on the stage as country music stars Maren Morris, Eric Church and Brothers Osborne performed Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven, lined up on stools for a very simple, stark and powerful rendition of the song.
All three acts played at the Route 91 festival last October before a gunman opened fire on the audience, killing 58.
"All of country music was reminded in the most tragic way the connection we share with fans and the loving power that music will always provide," said Eric Church, choking back tears.
"We wanted to come together and honour the memory of the beautiful, music-loving souls so cruelly taken from us," added Morris.
