Ashley Campbell (daughter of the late Glen Campbell),
releases her first album THE LONELY ONE
on March 9, on HumpHead Records
(HUMP210) to coincide with her appearances at Country to Country on Friday March 9 at SSE Hydro Glasgow and Country To Country on
Saturday March 10 at the O2 London.
She
co-wrote every song on it including the title track, "The Lonely One."
"This
is the theme of the album and the songs reflect the
different kinds of loneliness that a person can go through"
On
the difficulty of separating her own musical story/journey with her famous
father, Glen Campbell.
"You can’t really hide the fact that I’m Glen
Campbell’s daughter. I hope that people don’t think that it’s the only thing
that I am. I would hope that my music and my musicianship would speak for
itself. Hopefully, they can connect with my music separately. On the other
hand, it has helped a lot. It helps a lot because people have a lot of love for
my dad so they seem a little more open to hearing my music and hearing what I
have to say."
That Nashville Sound On the album: "I want people to be able to listen to it
years from now and not identify it with a specific time or era."
Former Maverick Magazine creator and Editor Alan Cackett writes:
Ashley Campbell is a multi-talented
entertainer. A newcomer with years of heavy touring under her belt. There’s no
denying her iconic country pedigree, but Ashley is attracting the spotlight
these days with her style, talent and unique sound all her own. I was delighted
to be invited to write the liner notes for this outstanding debut album by
Ashley Campbell. The album is full of songs intended to make listeners question
everything they’ve ever known, and to remind them, to think, smile, laugh and
even cry. It’s a mixed bag of sounds and styles presented in a unique and
distinctive way, with a range of emotions that connect both instantly and
universally. Flawlessly talented and using her voice to tell the stories of her
life, Ashley Campbell has found and claimed something she loves and is now
poised as heir to that Campbell lineage, pushing into new territory with a
skill and acumen that represents everything happening in today’s music. www.alancackett.com

Big Machine Label Group
introduced the multi-talented Ashley Campbell with her debut
Dot Records single, "Remembering"
(written with Kai Welch). She joined the now shuttered Dot Records (a division
of Big Machine Label Group) roster that included Steven Tyler, Maddie &
Tae, Drake White and 20-year-old newcomer Tucker Beathard and more.
The daughter of the late Country
Music Hall of Fame member Glen Campbell and the goddaughter of
Grammy award winning musician Carl Jackson, there’s no denying her
iconic Country pedigree.
Her music is a mix of her wide-ranging influences, combining the old-school country sound popularized by her father during the ’60s and ’70s with contemporary Americana, rootsy folk, and country-pop.
