Kris Cummins is from Taralga NSW in Australia. He lives the
country music lifestyle as a truck driver, driving long haul interstate on
Australia’s baron but breathtaking landscapes, a great inspiration for an
amazing up and coming country artist.
Kris Cummins has that true country sound, a deep timbre bass
baritone voice. Gentle but strong, soft and alluring. He has a natural passion
in his voice which is rare to find and has coupled that voice with some
terrific Nashville based writers to bring his latest single ‘Coming Down With
Something’ to life. The song is written by T.J.
Kilby and Brendon Maddox,
Produced by John Ertler and Tom Harding at Tombstone Recording Studios in
Nashville and originally delivered by Kris in the 2015 movie ‘Providence’.
“I thought if I didn’t try I’d never know. So I went into a
studio, cut 3 tracks, then went from there doing talent quests across Sydney
and formed my own band.”
Some of Kris’ early musical highlights include performing in
the USA and winning a contest for airplay on commercial radio 2UE in Sydney. A
huge endorsement for Kris was John Laws selecting Kris’ song ‘The Big One’ and
playing it twice on his show in one morning. In 2009 Kris also took the
opportunity whilst in the USA to perform at the Tennessee State Fair over 2
days.
A hard working truckie with a kind heart, Kris is one of the
many truck drivers and performers who take part yearly in ‘Convoy for Kids’
which has raised over two million dollars for children’s hospital services in
Australia.
2018 commences with the release of this new single with a
stylish new video directed by the talented Paul Denham. Australian independent
country artist Emma Jene appears as the ‘girl next door’ model in the music
video. Kris’ new single ‘‘Coming down with Something’ follows on from his
former EP ‘LITTLE LOVE’, which
produced the singles ‘Say When’, and ‘A Little Love’, and
shares a hint of the talent waiting for us to discover with his stunning new
album, due for release later in the year.
