2018 Radio Disney Music Awards & Fashion



Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor, Ed SheeranCamila Cabello, BTSSelena GomezShawn MendesKelsea Ballerini and Maroon 5 were all up for awards during the ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Friday June 22, 2018.

The '2018 Radio Disney Music Awards' aired Saturday, June 23 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel, as well as multiple Disney-branded platforms including Radio Disney, the Radio Disney app, the DisneyNOW app and Disney.com/RDMA.



Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line with "Meant To Be" snagged the Radio Disney Country Favorite Song" and additionally Bebe picked up Best New Artist.



Kelsea Ballerini landed the Radio Disney Country Favorite Artist award. She shared a message with her fans: STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT! I won a Radio Disney Music Award thanks to YOU! Thank you for voting, y’all are #TheBestest!!  💗

Disney Channel Presents The 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards
 Seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist Carrie Underwood was honored with the 2018 RDMA 'Hero' Award in recognition of her generosity, humanitarian efforts and dedication to supporting a myriad of charities. The award was presented to her by former 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson (Image).  
Who cited her support for education initiatives, arts programs and animal shelters in her hometown of Checotah, Okla, in addition to her work with organizations including Make-A-Wish, Red Cross, ACM Lifting Lives and St. Jude as examples of her benevolent efforts, calling her "one of the greatest souls on the planet."
"We've all been blessed with gifts that we can use to make the world a place," a humbled Underwood said as she accepted the award. "Growing up in a small town in Oklahoma, I certainly never imagined that anybody anywhere would be giving me any kind of hero award...May we all use our gifts to help each other because that's what champions do."


Global superstar Kelly Clarkson was honored with the 2018 RDMA 'Icon' Award in recognition of a career and music that has been loved by generations of Radio Disney fans. The award was presented to her by current 'American Idol' winner Maddie Poppe and 'The Voice' winner Brynn Cartelli.

They made headlines when they posed for a series of pictures together on the red carpet, smiling into the cameras and clowning around like old friends. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight afterward, Clarkson said it was her idea to pose together.
"Everybody always tries to pit me and Carrie against each other," she says. "So, when I saw her I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s just end this right now and get a picture together because we are never in the same place.' And, like, it never happens. And people always try to put it together like we’re enemies. And I’m like, ‘We don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies.' So, anyway, I went to get a picture and then everybody lost their mind."

Carrie Underwood and Ludacris hit the stage (>> Video Clip) at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards on Friday night for the debut television performance of their collaborative single, "The Champion."



According to Taste Of Country Underwood and Ludacris “owned the stage as they delivered the empowering finale performance. Her voice captivating as always, the superstar showed off her incredible vocal gift with the fiery song before Ludacris joined her to deliver an equally important message that encourages perseverance, motivation and mindfulness through the lyrics”.

The twosome invited the West Los Angeles Children's Choir to participate in the performance. Dressed in all white, the students filtered through the audience and made their way to the stage, lighting up the arena with their beautiful voices as Underwood and Ludacris let them take the lead on a reprise of the chorus, serving as living proof of the song's meaning.
