Billboard Top 200 / Country Album Chart News (Chart issue week of November 2, 2019)

The Billboard 200 chart measures multi-metric album consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Post Malone’s HOLLYWOOD’S BLEEDING became the first album released in 2019 to score four weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart (BB200), as the set climbed 2-1 on the list. The album earned 93,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 24 (down 6%), according to Nielsen Music. Hollywood’s Bleeding spent its first three weeks at No. 1 (charts dated Sept. 21 through Oct. 5). It returns to No. 1 on the latest tally, dated Nov. 2.

Billboard Top Country Albums (Chart issue week of November 2, 2019)
Top Country Albums now ranks the most popular country albums of the week, as compiled by Nielsen Music, based on multi-metric consumption (blending traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA)).
10 digital track sales from an album = 1 track equivalent album (TEA) “sale”
1,500 on demand song streams from an album to one streaming equivalent album (SEA) “sale”.
Nielsen Music compiles the sales and streaming data. Billboard continues to publish pure album sales charts (subscription to billboard biz ), exclusively comprising Nielsen’s sales data.

Luke Combs with debut LP THIS ONE’S FOR YOU (River House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville), the weeks 8th best country album seller, ruled Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for a record-tying 50th week (. The set matched the reign of Shania Twain’s COME ON OVER, which began its 50-frame domination in 1997. (#20-19 Billboard 200).

Combs’ set reached the milestone on the Nov. 2-dated chart with 20,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 24, according to Nielsen Music.
The album bowed atop the chart dated June 24, 2017 (with 43,000 units), and followed Combs’ same-named EP, which debuted at No. 36 in December 2015 and peaked at No. 24 in May 2017.

A deluxe version of the LP was released on June 1, 2018, sparking the title’s top weekly unit count (55,000, as reflected on the chart dated June 16).
Combs previously made chart history with This One’s for You’s five singles all crowning Country Airplay, making him the first artist to send his first five entries on the survey to No. 1.

His debut hit, “Hurricane,” led for two weeks beginning in May 2017, followed by “When It Rains It Pours” (two, November 2017), “One Number Away” (one, June 2018), “She Got the Best of Me” (four, October 2018) and “Beautiful Crazy” (seven, March 2019).

Combs extended his record when sixth single “Beer Never Broke My Heart” paced the list for two weeks in August. The song is the first single from his EP The Prequel, which debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums in June. His second full-length, What You See Is What You Get, is due Nov. 8.

Additionally, Combs’ latest release, THE PREQUEL (River House/Columbia Nashville/ Sony Music Nashville) moved 6-5 (#55-54 BB200) in its 20th frame.

Cody Jinks with 12-track THE WANTING (Late August Records | Amazon UK - iTunes - Amazon.com)  made a debut at No.2 (#35 New Entry Billboard 200) and landed at the top of Country Album Sales chart.
Jinks' weekly back-to-back album releases made one of the biggest independent artists in country music stick out even more while keeping him from forcing an incoherent double album, holding finished songs for months on end or letting quality material get swept off the cutting room floor. Read More: Actually, Cody Jinks Is Releasing Two Albums This Fall

A few years ago, this album might have even sounded better, at least when lined up against so much bad mainstream country music competition. But in 2019, with so much stiff competition, Jinks is still right there at the top. Years from now, this album will also sound fantastic. It truly has a timeless quality. - Country Standard Time

Cody Jinks with AFTER THE FIRE (Late August) which last week flew in Top Country Albums at No. 2 fell of the top 50 and fell 1-7 on Country Album Sales.

As part of the release of After The Fire and The Wanting is a dynamic new website feature from Jinks. This was all part of Cody’s effort to put extra emphasis on the songwriters he collaborated with on the two records.
