won the night for ABC but was off 12.7% in
overall viewers with 6.61 million, down from last year's 7.57 million.
Among adults 18-49, the broadcast earned an 0.83 rating according to TVRatingsGuide.com,
down from last year's 1.05. In share, the show pulled a 9.0 among Persons
18-49. The awards topped NBC's
second place Republican
Presidential Primary Debate, which pulled 5.79m viewers.

Bargatze, Tony award- nominated actor currently starring in the hit

Emmy and Tony award-winning and Oscar-nominated actress, singer, author and

The first lineup of performers for "The 57th Annual
CMA Awards" was previously announced! Offering a mix of first-time
nominees and performers, along with Country Music legends, artists taking the

SURPISE: Luke Bryan detailed a surprise performance set to take place at this year's
CMA Awards. During a press conference with his CMA Awards co-host Peyton
Manning, Luke was asked which moment he was most excited to see during the
2023 ceremony.
The
host responded that he was looking forward to Morgan Wallen and Hardy
taking the stage with Post Malone, saying, "For them to be
together onstage is fun stuff." Although the collaboration has been
announced, the CMA Awards did not revealed what the three musicians would
perform. Luke revealed, "They're doing the Joe Diffie tribute,"
before adding, "Did I just spill the beans on that? See how I work? See
how that works, Peyton?"

NOMINATIONS
Going into “The 57th Annual
CMA Awards Lainey Wilson topped the list at nine nominations . The
2022 Female Vocalist and New Artist of the Year Lainey made CMA Awards
history yet again, becoming the only artist to top the nominations list
in her first two appearances on the Final Ballot.
In 2022, Lainey Wilson
topped the nominations list with six nods as a first-time nominee. She now ties
Merle Haggard and Miranda Lambert with nine nominations in a single year (Alan
Jackson holds the record with 10 nominations in 2002). Her nine nominations
include Entertainer, Single (x2), Album, Song, Female Vocalist, Musical Event
(x2) and Music Video of the Year. “Heart Like A Truck” was produced by Jay
Joyce, mixed by Jason Hall and Joyce, and written by Trannie Anderson, Dallas
Wilson and Lainey Wilson. HARDY’s “wait in the truck,” which Lainey Wilson is
featured on, was produced by HARDY, Joey Moi, Jordan Schmidt and Derek Wells,
mixed by Moi, and written by Renee Blair, Michael Hardy (aka HARDY), Hunter
Phelps and Schmidt. The song’s music video was directed by Justin Clough.
Lainey Wilson’s album Bell Bottom Country was produced by Joyce and mixed by
Hall and Joyce. Jelly Roll’s “Save Me,” which Lainey Wilson is featured on, was
produced by Zach Crowell and David Ray Stevens.
Other top nominees

HARDY and Lainey Wilson Earn Trophies for CMA Musical Event of the Year
and CMA Music Video of the Year
Early winners were revealed this morning (Nov 8) in two
categories. HARDYand Lainey Wilson earn trophies for their CMA
Musical Event of the Year nomination, “wait in the truck,” produced
by HARDY, Joey Moi, Jordan Schmidt and Derek
Wells as well as take home the win for CMA Music Video of the Year,
directed by Justin Clough.
The announcement took place live on ABC’s “Good Morning America,”
with Lara Spencer sharing the news live from downtown
Nashville.
In addition, CMA New Artist and Song of the Year nominee Megan
Moroney took to “GMA”’s Times Square studio for a special two-song
performance.
Kicking off the night, Jelly Roll took the CMA Awards stage for the first time with iconic
Country Music Hall of Fame member Wynonna Judd, performing his hit single “Need A Favor” and
bringing the crowd to their feet.
Newly inducted Country Music Hall of Fame
member Tanya Tucker was
joined by Little Big Town to
perform the Country classic “Delta Dawn,” a song that has stood
the test of time since first being performed by a teenage Tucker in 1972.
And some of Country Music’s most beloved
acts—including Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band and Coral Reefer Band member Mac McAnally—united to pay tribute to their good friend, the recently passed
legendary songwriter and CMA Award winner Jimmy Buffett, performing a medley of
Buffett’s hits “A Pirate Looks at Forty” and “Margaritaville.”
Adding to the list of star-studded
collaborations, HARDY and Morgan
Wallen welcomed pop star Post Malone to the CMA Awards stage for the first time to perform two of
Country star Joe
Diffie’s hits, “John Deere Green” and “Pickup
Man.”

Wallen also took the CMA Awards stage to
perform “Man Made a Bar” featuring surprise guest Eric Church.
Carly Pearce and Chris
Stapleton showcased their stunning and
powerful harmonies performing “We Don’t Fight Anymore.”
Old Dominion and Megan
Moroney performed a gut-wrenching rendition
of their song “Can’t Break Up Now.” And just as he opened the
show, Jelly Roll returned to close the show alongside first-time performer and
multi-genre powerhouse K. Michelle, singing The Judds’ “Love
Can Build A Bridge.”
The night’s top winner, Lainey
Wilson took the stage to perform “Wildflowers
and Wild Horses” against a stunning wild meadow surrounded by flames.
Luke Bryan had the arena crowd
on their feet as he celebrated his 30 career No. 1 hits with a medley of “Huntin’,
Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” “One Margarita,”
“That’s My Kind Of Night,” “Play It Again” and “Country
Girl (Shake It For Me).”
Additional artists taking the CMA Awards
stage tonight, for solo performances, included Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Jordan
Davis, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Stapleton, and The War And Treaty.
First-time winner tonight, Jelly Roll
took home New Artist of the Year, causing the audience to erupt with
applause following his inspirational acceptance speech. “There is something
poetic about a 39-year-old man winning New Artist of the Year. I don’t know
where you’re at in your life, or what you’re going through, but I want to tell
you to keep going, baby.”
Tracy Chapman won
in the Songwriter category for penning “Fast Car,” covered by
Combs. Though not in attendance, Chapman shared thank you remarks, noting,
“It’s truly an honor for my song to be newly recognized after 35 years of its
debut.”
Chris Stapleton’sMale
Vocalist of the Year trophy marks his 16th win overall, tying him
for third in all time wins.
Brothers Osborne’s win for Vocal
Duo marks their sixth win in the category, making the siblings the
second-most all-time winning Duo.
Old Dominion won Vocal Group
for a sixth consecutive year, tying for most consecutive all-time wins
in the category.
Fiddle player Jenee
Fleenor took home her fifth straight win
for Musician, now tying Johnny Gimble as the fourth-most all-time winner in the
category.

years, but I didn't start working on this 12-and-a-half years ago," Lainey Wilson told the press room after winning EOTY. "I started
working on this when I was nine years old." Wilson joins Garth Brooks

The Country Music Association revealed
the nominees for the 2023 CMA International Awards,
which honor artists and industry executives who have supported and impacted the
growth and promotion of Country Music in the international marketplace.
Nominees are recognized in multiple categories and voted on by international
members of CMA along with a select panel of U.S.-based professionals who have
extensive knowledge in the international Country Music industry. These nominees
from Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Sweden,
the U.K. and the U.S. are honored for their continued efforts in expanding
Country Music’s reach around the globe.
“As we continue to see Country Music grow globally, it
is thanks in large part to those who have supported our mission and spearheaded
events, initiatives and programming to reach new territories around the world,”
says Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “The dedication

The CMA Awards nominees and
winners are determined by the more than 6,000 industry professional
members of CMA, which when established in 1958 became the first trade
organization formed to promote an individual genre of music.
The first CMA Awards Banquet
and Show was held in 1967.
The following year, the CMA
Awards was broadcast on NBC television for the first time – making it the
longest running, annual music awards program on network television. The show
aired on NBC through 1971 and on the CBS Television Network from 1972 through
2005 before moving in 2006 to ABC, where it still airs today.
