‘Texas
is the Reason’
Release
Date: 22nd July 2018
“…the British equivalent of Old Crow Medicine
Show” - Your Life In a Song
Deep
South (Coast) Country/Bluegrass four-piece Hometown Show return with
their brand new single Texas
is the Reason on July 22nd 2018.
It’s
described as a mid-tempo Cash/Carter style number with a contemporary twist,
the song takes you on the journey of a man, hitchhiking his way from Tennessee
to Texas to find his true love.
Texas is
the Reason is a modern take on the ‘storytelling’ Country style of old, with
toe-tapping acoustic guitar, Tennessee Three style electric rhythm and
blistering harmonica solos that create a sound influenced most notably by the
likes of The Avett Brothers, Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams.
This sweet,
amusing and entertaining acoustic driven ditty points its compass on a route
from sandy coastlines to beaming city lights heading out to be with a kissed-her-lips-a-1000-times-girl-of-my-dreams
beauty - I’m on my way!
I’ll swim the oceans and walk the Appalachian Trail
I’d wade the Bayous
Brave the rowdy barroom brawls
Brave the rowdy barroom brawls
To have in you in my arms once more
Self-penned
by Matthew Harrison and recorded at The Foundry Studios in Portsmouth, this light-hearted
number has a locked in time feel to it and is a real joy
Texas is
the Reason will be available
for digital-download and limited physical purchase from 22nd July 2018 from their website at www.hometownshow.co.uk
