Brett Eldredge drops new album then judges Miss America 2016!
Although
Brett Eldredge the 2014 CMA New Artist of the Year winner may have been
disappointed not to receive any recent 2015 CMA nominations his week ended with
a jaw-dropping event when he was a judge for Miss America 2016! and dropped his
second studio album on Sept 11th!

29-year
old Brett Eldredge had the tough job
of judging the Miss America Pageant held on Sunday night (Sept 13, 2015) at the
Boardwalk Hall Arena on Sunday (September 13) in Atlantic City, New Jersey, shown
on ABC.

Though
he hails from Illinois and now lives in Tennessee, Brett said he was going in
with no bias towards those two states in the competition.
He
told ABC Radio, "I am open for all,
for everybody, and may the best gal win."
Pageant Material: Though Brett has never judged a pageant before, he has been around them since he was a little kid attending the fair in his home town of Paris, Illinois.
"I'm from a farming community, so they had the Cow Queen, and they had all sorts of crazy pageants," Brett said. "I grew up seeing that stuff."
Brett
still performs at big fairs and festivals across the country, so he still
catches a glimpse of local pageant winners from time to time.
When it comes to Miss America, Brett said he had a few key elements he was looking for in a contestant.
When it comes to Miss America, Brett said he had a few key elements he was looking for in a contestant.
He
said he's was looking for "a girl
that can act on her feet, that can answer on her feet and be witty and smart
and quick to their answers and also show their beauty and be elegant and also,
you know, show their talents."
Of course, Brett was looking forward to judging the swimsuit competition, too.
Brett tweeted: Holy swimsuits!!!....getting sweaty up in here @MissAmericaOrg ! #MissAmerica

fellow judge singer, actress, dancer, and model Zendaya Coleman was in attendance on the carpet at the Boardwalk
Hall Arena on Sunday (September 13) in Atlantic City, New Jersey looking sezy

caviar-beads to give the piece beautiful lustre (Image).
Amy Purdy, the Paralympic bronze
medalist showed up to judge and looked terrific in a gorgeous gown with side
cutouts. As a judge for the competition, the former Dancing With the Stars
contestant totally nailed the red carpet in an incredible dress that is giving
us SO much style envy. The 35-year-old showed off her amazing, slender figure
in the form-fitting gown, which had an embellished blue, black and white top
half leading into a simple black fabric for the skirt portion. The halter top
neckline and subtle side cutouts added the perfect amount of sex appeal whilst
rocking totally classy and chic (Image)
Head
judge Vanessa Williams performed
onstage during the 2016 Miss America Competition at Boardwalk Hall Arena on
September 13, 2015 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was a highly anticipated
return to the stage 32 years after she won the crown in 1984 and then resigned
following a nude photo scandal. The 52-year old sang and then was offered an
opology by the current Miss America CEO Sam Haskell. Sunday marked her first
time back at the pageant since the scandal. She has since become a world-famous
stage and television actress and vocalist.

The Miss America 2016: Preliminary competitions
These
took place held on Tuesday (Sept 8), Wednesday, and Thursday nights, with
contestants taking home scholarships for both talent and swimsuit contests each
evening.
Double
win: Miss Iowa Taylor Wiebers was
one of three swimsuit winners at this year's Miss America competition, having
also taken home an award for the talent portion (Image) earning a $1,000 scholarship in reward for the way she flaunted
her figure in a bikini. Taylor Wiebers, 21, wore a blue halter two-piece (Image!) during the segment though no physical feats are actually performed
on stage during that time - unless, that is, you count walking in five-inch
heels in front of millions of people a physical feat.
High notes: Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell (Image -
Image) showed off
her pipes singing “Tu, Tu Piccolo Iddio” from the opera Madama Butterfly.
Making music: Miss Puerto Rico Destiny Velez's talent stood out, as the pageant
pro performed on the drums (Image)
Miss
America finalists flaunted their figures - and an array of weird and wonderful
of skills - in hotly-contested swimsuit and talent rounds. Pageant competitors
included contestants from all 50 states,
The District of Columbia and Puerto Rico who showed off their swimwear during
the preliminary rounds. Contestants from Iowa, South Carolina, and Florida took
home scholarships for the swimsuit round, which is officially called Lifestyle and Fitness. Read more and

#PokerFace “Judging” by the media photo’s Brett had a dead-pan expression and looked almost bored by the event or was it put on deliberately so not to reveal any favouritism towards the contestants.
It will have been “hard” not for Eldredge to not get excited when Cantrell, a 21-year-old student at Mercer University, rocked a magenta bikini with gold accents for the swimsuit portion of the competition, a segment that judge Vanessa Williams said was more about what the contestants had on the inside than their physical appearance.
According to judge Amy Purdy the Miss America organisors told them not to smile. She later shared “I'm so glad I can finally smile”!
During
the interview part of the evening the Don't Ya singer Eldredge asked Betty is she thought Tom Brady cheated in The 2014 AFC
Championship Game football tampering scandal (commonly referred to as
Deflategate)
"I think I'd have to there to see the ball and
feel it to see if the ball was deflated or not deflated, but if there was a
question there then yes, he cheated. if there was any question to be had then
he definitely cheated then he should of been suspended for that, that's not
fair"
1.
Her first name is Baciliky, which
means "royalty." According to the Miss Georgia website, Cantrell, who
has Greek and German ancestry, was named after her Greek grandmother. She also
sings in her Greek Orthodox church choir and is a member of a Greek dance
group.
2. COUNTRY GAL: She grew up on 700 acres "managed for wildlife" in Warner Robins. There, she learned skills such as "driving a full-sized John Deere tractor, plowing and seeding fields, and handling a shotgun," the Miss Georgia website reports. In a video posted to her Twitter account, she adds, "I grew up in the country with no cable TV." She graduated from Macon's Mount de Sales Academy in 2012 and attends Mercer University, where she studies vocal performance.
3. Her dream is to perform on Broadway
4.
Her platform is "healthy
children, strong America." According to the Telegraph, her parents own a
sports medicine and physical therapy center. "Child obesity is a real
problem" she told the Ledger-Enquirer.
5.
She is the second Miss Georgia to win
Miss America. The first Georgia winner was Neva Jane Langley Fickling of Macon,
who was named Miss America 1953.

Two
years ago Brett Eldredge wandered the streets of New York City unnoticed.
His debut album, BRING YOU BACK, was less than 1 week old, and his single "Don’t Ya" was about to be declared the most-played song on country radio.
He was thankful for the success and already planning to repeat it. While "Bring You Back" would go on to produce two additional No.1 songs, on that balmy August day in 2013, Eldredge was focused on what was next - his second album.
Many artists wait a year or more after releasing an album to start work on the next one, but Eldredge already had begun the writing process. "It's a cliche I hear a lot: You have your whole life to write for your first album and only a couple of months to write for your second album," Eldredge said.

Brett’s
“Lose My Mind” video is downright sexy — and YES it was all his idea! Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex >> caught up with the
country star, who dished on the inspiration behind the visual.
The
video shows Eldredge in a straightjacket in the arms of one super hot nurse!
The video actually premiered during the ACM Awards on one of their many Jumbotrons, but was released online days later. Eldredge said the idea came to him while he was on an airplane.

The
country singer got pretty lucky with his co-star and Victoria’s Secret model!
“She’s a Victoria’s Secret model, which was
cool,” he said of Rachel Hilbert, giggling. “She was an awesome person. Literally the day before the video she
jumped on board to do it.
Like she’d heard about it the day before and we were like, ‘We’d really like her to do this,’ and she was like, ‘I’ll get on a plane right now.’
She got on a plane and was in Nashville by midnight and we were on filming by like 8AM.”

Although
Eldredge is proud of his latest work, it did cause one family member to cringe
just a little. “My mom said she had to
close her eyes for a couple of parts,” the singer admitted.

Yes
we digress
Brett
has previously enjoyed success with two Billboard Country Airplay No1s "Beat of the Music" (chart dated June
28, 2014) and "Mean To Me"
both led for 1 week each.
Eldredge’s
debut album, BRING YOU BACK (Warner Music Nashville), released Aug 6, 2013 made
a debut at No.11 on the Billboard 200 and No.2 on the Country chart with sales
of 21,119 copies (11,209 Physical + 9,910 Digital). Eldredge’s set marked the
best opening-week rank and sum for a rookie male since Dustin Lynch’s self-titled
album opened at No.1 (#13 BB200 selling 23,077 copies) on Sept. 8, 2012.
"Lose My Mind" was released on May
4, 2015 as the first single from Eldredge's second album, ILLINOIS. Eldredge
co-wrote the song with Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan
It also debuted at #31 on the Billboard Hot
Country Songs on its debut week, selling 21,000 copies. The song has sold
299,000 copies in the US as of September 2015.
After
21 chart frame it has reached #5 on Billboard Country Airplay and No.6 on Hot
Country Songs.
In
review UK based For The Country Record (by Nick Jarman) wrote: Comparing ‘Illinois’ to ‘Bring You Back’ is
difficult since ‘Illinois’ has much more of a modern slant. However, I would
say that whilst ‘Illinois’ never hits the heights of Brett’s debut offering, it
doesn’t stoop to the lows either. I would say that ‘Illinois’ is a very solid
offering, with every song being good, and few being outstanding. I love Brett
Eldredge and I like ‘Illinois’. I would highly suggest a listen, even if it is
only to absorb the best male voice in country music.

I ain't pageant material
I'm always higher than my hair
And it ain't that I don't care about world peace
But I don't see how I can fix it in a swimsuit on a stage
I ain't exactly Ms. Congenial
Sometimes I talk before I think, I try to fake it but I can't
I'd rather lose for what I am than win for what I ain't
God bless the girls who smile and hug
When they're called out as a runner up on TV
I wish I could, but I just can't
Wear a smile when a smile ain't what I'm feelin'
And who's to say I'm a 9.5
Or a 4.0 if you don't even know me
Life ain't always roses and pantyhose
