Successful charting British country acts are a very rare commodity, but The Shires fit the bill, and rounded off the week’s Top 10 (dated March 14, 2015) when BRAVE (Decca Nashville) redolent in parts of Lady Antebellum. It opened at No.10 with first week/ pre-order sales of  9,516 copies. 14 Tracks Time: 47:30 BUY: AMAZON UK - UK iTunes - Test Drive on SPOTIFY
To put that into perspective BRAVE sold more copies in 17 chart frames (45,600) in UK than Grammy Winning CMA nominated Kacey Musgraves SAME TRAILER, DIFFERENT PARK (43,500) in 26 months since its UK April 2013 release.

After 24 chart frames BRAVE sold another 3,928 copies with a official cumulative tally of 59,294 copies and then swept past the 60,000 mark which is enough to earn a Silver Award certification which is administered by The BPI. The album has logged 24 weeks at No.1 atop the Official UK Country Album Chart.

Official Charts Company Chief Executive Martin Talbot said: “This is a fantastic feat by this young British country duo. No country act has ever made this kind of impact on the chart before – it is truly remarkable.”
BBC Radio 2’s “Country King” Bob Harris added: ‘I’ve been doing the country show for 15 years now, and in the whole of that time I’ve never known things to be quite as exciting as they are today.

The Shires were recently made UK Artist of the Year with votes from paid subscribers and radio presenters from Internet radio station UKCountryRadio.com Along with Ward Thomas they were also nominated for Duo of the Year but  lost out out to Glasgow duo Raintown. However the consolation prize for England’s spearheading country acts was that they were added to the “guestlist” and got to play to a 55,000 crowd at BBC Radio 2’s Live in Hyde Park concert on Sun Sept 13, 2015

Whilst in Music City they played The Global Live Show by the Bridgestone Arena during the CMA Festival.
The sound of the summer 2015 was definitely UK country as The Shires also made their debut on the UK festival circuit, performing exclusively across countless high profile festivals including Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Larmer Tree and Camp Bestival.

The Shires will not be taking a rest after their packed summer schedule and plan to go straight back out on the road again,

Island Records Jonathan Jeremiah has been confirmed to support The Shires on their tour.

Imagine a young London born singer songwriter working night-shifts for seven years to get the money together to hire legendary brass players, soulful string orchestras, and Questlove, one of music’s most influential figures to drum on five of the tracks, and record them in a little studio in Dollis Hill. Born to an Anglo-Indian father and a Tipperary born Irish-Catholic mother, Jonathan inherited his name from his mother’s brother, a priest, and a boy in love with the idea of the American dream, who died in a car crash in Jefferson City, USA at the age of 23....Read More
