What’s called music’s biggest
night, the Grammy Awards have announced their nominations for 2019. Alessia
Cara, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe and Apple Music Beats DJ Zane Lowe announced
the nominations Friday morning (Dec. 7).
Brandi Carlile leads the pack with 6 nominations in total including All-Genre Album and Record of the

In the country field Maren Morris, who grabbed a nod for

comes out on top with five nods, following close behind is Kacey Musgraves with 4 nominations including the coveted
overall Album of the Year nomination for GOLDEN HOUR.
Country’s golden boy, Luke Combs, scores a nomination in the

Artist, going up against Chloe x Halle, Greta Van Fleet, H.E.R., Dua Lipa ,
Margo Price, Bebe Rexha and Jorja Smith.
“Girl going nowhere” Ashley McBryde has done anything but in 2018. The artist NPR deems “country music's most charismatic, naturalistic new voice this year,” released her major label debut Girl Going Nowhere in March to much critical acclaim—from Billboard, Rolling Stone and Variety to The New York Times, NPR and The Washington Post—and, the 11-track album, released via Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville, features McBryde as a co-writer on every song and earns the Arkansas-native her first GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde joins Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini in this category, and marks the only debut album nominated.
"I’m stunned and humbled and just blown away,” McBryde said to fans. “And I'm honored to be alongside artists I admire so much. When other girls my age were planning their dream weddings, I dreamt of a GRAMMY nomination. I don't even need to win. Five-year-old me and teenage me are both satisfied as of now."
Check out the list of nominees
for the 2019 Grammy Awards. The 61st annual Grammys will air live on Sunday,
Feb. 10 on CBS (8-11:30 p.m. ET).
