The creativeness behind Amy’s distinctive musical style gets the chance to take centre stage for the full duration of this release, by giving us the chance to see the emotive nature behind this gifted artist. I believe that this single has given Amy the opportunity to express her individuality as an artist & help to pave the way for a very bright & promising career.

Highly sought after for her melodic and lyrical abilities, country singer songwriterAmy Lawtonreturned with ‘New Light’ on August 9th via Universal. Having shared the stage with Jack Savoretti and received support from BBC Radio 2, The Times and Deezer UK, Amy Lawton shows no sign of stopping.

While writing for artists such as Sarah Darling, whose album ‘Wonderland’ went to Number 1 in the UK Country Charts; Amyhas been releasing herown music to an ever-growing fanbase. Having been described as Sweet country pop right out of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now era” by The Times, Amy is a burgeoning name on the UK live scene. Having just completed her first ever regional tour where she played 19-dates across the country, Amy recently performed at The Great Escape Festival and supported Jack Savoretti at Cadogan Hall.

ABOUT
Amy Lawton is a fresh-faced 20yr old Country/Rock artist and songwriter from Manchester, now based in London.
She has written rhymes, poems and short stories since she could hold a pen and has been crafting these ideas into song over the past 18months with renowned writer/producer Matty Benbrook (Dido, Paolo Nutini, Jack Savoretti).

Amy’s skill with wordplay and pop melody can be heard perfectly in the first single to emerge from Matty’s studio, Undone, which was released in September 2017. Her innocent-yet-knowing vocals are the perfect foil to the biting lyricism, reminiscent of artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Suzanne Vega or County-era Taylor Swift. The release received widespread critical acclaim with support from 1883 and Celeb-Mix, landing on multiple Deezer playlists, radio play on BBC Introducing London and Amazing Radio, and a TV appearance with London Live. National coffee chain Caffe Nero also lent their support with in-store playlisting and showcase opportunities.

Amy has been steadily developing her live show with performances at many of London’s iconic venues such as The Troubadour, The Bedford, The Social and Ronnie Scott’s. This proved good grounding for her biggest show to date; opening for Jack Savoretti to 1,000 people at London’s Cadogan Hall.
Writing together with the likes of Dee Adam (Diana Vickers, Newton Faulkner), Jess Sharman (Ward Thomas), Pam Sheyne (Corinne Bailey Rae), Paul Herman (Dido) and of course Matty Benbrook, Amy is quickly honing her craft on and off stage.

Amy’s sophomore single was the upbeat Country-Pop love song ‘Hurts Like Paradise’, which dropped on May 11, 2018 on Paradise Records/AWAL. Like ‘Undone’, it was produced by Matty Benbrook at his East London studio, Studio 45. Amy shared: “’Hurts Like Paradise' is a song I started writing back at school. It's kind of a story about a relationship from start to finish, only it's told from the perspective of someone who feels like they're an outsider. I like that there are details in the song which show this character as they talk about their experiences. Even though it's a sad song, I like to mix sad lyrics with upbeat sounds.”
“The new song showcased Amy’s incredible talent and declares that she has a promising future.” - 1883 Magazine

Single ‘Don’t Bring Louise’ release Nov 30,  2018 was a song depicting one of heartfelt unrequited love, featured beautiful harmonies among its sincere country pop.
“We can’t wait to see how Amy continues to grow in the future!” - Celeb Mix
