Austerity
What Austerity?
After a late rally Sasha McVeigh second studio EP/Album has been successfully funded
using the crowding platform Kickstarter with 158 backers
pledging $21,500 (£17,500) to help
bring this project to life
Her single 'When
I'm Over You' has gained over 500,000 streams and she’s now ready to
breakthrough to a mainstream level. “I
truly believe with this new record I can do that, or I can at the very least
give it my absolute best shot” she shares.
Plans were to begin
recording the record in August after returning to Nashville after completing her
fourth US tour performing on the main stage at various BIG country music
festivals alongside artists such as Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Miranda
Lambert. Headline shows also planned to perform some of these new songs to
build up the excitement for the release of this project. If the budget was
exceeded, Sasha’s producer and her will be able to record additional songs at
approximately $2,500 per song. Enough has been raised to record 10-12 songs for
a follow-up album.
HURRICANE
HARVEY Casualties
Hurricane
Harvey prevented Mark Chesnutt from traveling to overseas Millport Music Festival in U.K. due to the natural disaster in his
home state of Texas. Jess and the Bandits also had to postpone their September Tour after Texan lead singer Jess
Clemmons emotionally announced on Twitter that her parents home had received a significant
amount of damage in Houston and has had to return to help her family rebuild
their lives. Their tour dates have been rescheduled for February 2018 check

UK CHART NEWS
Official UK Top 100 Singles Chart (Week Ending 7 September 2017)
1 September 2017 -
7 September 2017
Taylor Swift had a stellar week, with her cumulative UK sales (including sales
equivalent streams) topping 10 million, and Look What You Made Me Do
– the introductory single from her upcoming (sixth) album, REPUTATION -
debuting at No.1.
Something of a
departure for 27-year-old Swift, featuring a fairly dark lyric and an
interpolation of Right Said Fred's I'm
Too Sexy - which was in the midst of a six-week run at its peak position of
No.2 exactly 26 years ago - Look What You Made Me Do is her 26th charted
single and her 10th to reach the Top 10 but the first to reach No.1. Exploding out of the box with sales of 65,415
copies (including 35,665 from streams + 29,750
pure sales), LWYMED topped both paid-for sales and streaming
charts for the week, and surpassed Swift's previous highest weekly sale of
62,786, all paid-for, as recorded by “I Knew You Were Trouble” as it climbed 8-7 in the final week of
2012.
The arrival of Look What You Made Me Do sparked
interest in Swift's catalogue, and her sales to midnight on Thursday (31
August) stood at 10,187,899.

Walter Becker, co-founder and guitarist for the US band Steely Dan, has died aged 67 - BBC
No cause of death or other details were given.
Becker missed the band's July concerts to recover from
an unspecified condition, band mate Donald Fagen said at the time.
The jazz-rock group has sold more than 40 million albums and were inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
Donald Fagen wrote a tribute to his Steely Dan partner
Walter Becker: Walter Becker was my friend, my writing partner and my bandmate
since we met as students at Bard College in 1967. We started writing nutty little tunes on an upright piano in a small
sitting room in the lobby of Ward Manor, a mouldering old mansion on the Hudson
River that the college used as a dorm.
We liked a lot of the same
things: jazz (from the twenties through the mid-sixties), W.C. Fields, the Marx
Brothers, science fiction, Nabokov, Kurt Vonnegut, Thomas Berger, and Robert
Altman films come to mind. Also soul music and Chicago blues. Walter had a very
rough childhood – I’ll spare you the details. Luckily, he was smart as a whip,
an excellent guitarist and a great songwriter. He was cynical about human
nature, including his own, and hysterically funny. Like a lot of kids from
fractured families, he had the knack of creative mimicry, reading people’s
hidden psychology and transforming what he saw into bubbly, incisive art. He
used to write letters (never meant to be sent) in my wife Libby’s singular
voice that made the three of us collapse with laughter.
