They were embargoed to talk
about songs on the new album but Ben picked up of the album name.
Title cut Accidentally On Purpose
was written from personal fun background (holiday romance vibe ❤π that
Crissie experienced). Ben said it is “one
of most honest songs we’ve written in a long time”. The title cut is a
co-write with Jimmy Robbins” (penned a
total of 8 #1 singles, won a CMA Triple Play Award for having 3 #1 songs in a
twelve-month period, won the ASCAP country song of the year for Thomas Rhett's It Goes Like This. His
song We Were Us, performed by Keith
Urban and Miranda Lambert, won Musical Event of the Year at the 2014 CMA
Awards).
"It kind of sums up about UK Country breaking into the mainstream, the
whole scene has happened by chance" – Ben Earle

ABOUT THE SHIRES:
Powered
by Crissie’s powerful but subtle and supple vocals and Ben’s perfectly
complementary tones and acoustic guitar, The Shires have literally found a
piece of country to call their own. They love American music, but they’re
proudly British and intensely keen to add some real indigenous flavour to the
pot with their debut album 'Brave'.
The
Shires made music history by becoming the first
UK country act ever to have a Top 10 album.
The
duo have clearly been at the forefront of the British country music movement
which has seen a sea change in the opinion of the British public, who have
embraced the genre and UK bands making music inspired by US country artists.
According to a CMA report, country fans were getting younger with 47% of 18-24
year olds now identifying themselves as country music fans. Label boss Rebecca
Allen attributes much of this success to The Shires: "Country really is
finding a new, young audience in the UK... The Shires’ success is opening doors
for lots of other artists. They were one of the breakthrough acts of last year,
along with Years & Years, James Bay and Meghan Trainor. And that wasn't
from a country audience. It was an audience of young people that really
enjoyed great POP music."

Blurb: Sinead Burgess has proven she is clearly on the path to achieving
just that – ever since she took her first tentative steps into the world of
songwriting at the age of 5, began performing live in her early teens and fell
in love with playing guitar at aged 15.
That self-belief has empowered Sinead to experiment with different styles of music as her songwriting has evolved.
A contract with ABC Music at the age of 16 led to a recording session in Nashville, with the intention of making a country album.
Sinead knew in her heart that those recordings weren’t a true representation of her as a songwriter and took the bold step of following her musical instincts and talking to her label about making a different album.
Sinead began working with in-demand UK pop producer Stuart Crichton (Gin Wigmore, Pet Shop Boys, The Sugababes); the success of those sessions leading to the start of an exciting new relationship with Universal Music Australia.
Four years later and after live performances and intensive songwriting in Australia and the USA, Sinead released her 7 track New York-recorded EP Wolf (March 18, 2016: Amazon | iTunes)
The Wolf EP was described as Sinead at her most potent and realised as
a recording artist blending her many influences – indie-pop, rock, electronica – into a glorious collection of immersive POP songs. It is pop music in the sense
that hooks and melodies burst from the music in a heady rush. It is honest and
confessional pop music by the nature of songs existing at the junction of
danceability and emotional resonance.
