Mixed Reaction:
Wow! Good for
them!!
What a result!!!
But what about The Long Road Festival
She’s cancelled
The Long Road also 😢 I had tickets for both purely for Carrie.
Absolutely gutted 😞
Brilliant we have
paid £50 to watch the shires 😂😂😭 hate our lives
LOL what a
downgrade! Think I’ll be heading to the bar while they’re performing their
blandness!
Nooo! We thought
we'd escaped them this year. They seem to have played this event every year and
it got boring a few years ago.

(29 Aug 2018) Taylor Swift ... Will She Stay Or Will She
Go?
Country-turned-Pop superstar Taylor Swift will reportedly become a free agent when her record deal with BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP expires in
November, Forbes reports. After all, her last album, "Reputation,"
sold 1.9 million units, the most of any record on the year (and #3 in terms of
album-equivalent units). SWIFT is also grossing $7 million a night on her
current sold-out tour.
A major label in its right mind would make a generous
offer for SWIFT, not just in terms of money, but offering to help launch her
own label if she so desires. Yet, FORBES surmises that SWIFT might not go
anywhere at all. Why? One reason, says FORBES, is that SWIFT's family has
equity in BMLG, thus leaving the label would most likely damage the income they
derive of that. Of course, the impact depends of that on just how much equity
they have in BMLG -- and that is not publicly known. One thing is for sure:
There's the advantage of getting the right to her masters from BMLG if she
re-ups with her current home.

With a style that is rooted in the classic country
songstresses such as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris. Southern
California singer/songwriter Alice Wallace’s impeccable
vocals and melodic, literate song-crafting skills bring a fresh touch to
authentic Americana music.
Walace will be showcasing her irrefutable style in
Nashville, TN on September 13th, 14th, and 15th. Currently in the studio working on an early
2019 release, Wallace will be previewing the new songs during these live
performances, along with a few fan favorites. She has already released one
single from the forthcoming album in September 2017. The single, entitled Echo
Canyon and co-written with Andrew Delaney, adds a modern flair to the
all-but-abandoned tradition of the country yodel, and the website Saving
Country Music said the song “creates the perfect setting and environment for
Alice Wallace to showcase why she’s one of the most unheralded singers in

COUNTRY GOSSIP
Carrie Underwood has called out the lack of female
artists on country music radio.
The 35-year-old singer shot to fame as the winner of
American Idol in 2005, with her debut album Some Hearts becoming the
best-selling solo female debut album in country music history.
However, in an interview with Women Want to Hear Women podcast, the
Before He Cheats hitmaker addressed the lack of female representation in
country radio and insisted more needs to be done to support rising female
stars.
"I feel like shutting that door on ‘women don’t
want to hear women’ because that’s BS (bulls**t),” Carrie told host
Elaina Smith when asked what needs to be done about the gender disparity in
country music. "Even when I was growing up, I wished there were more women
on the radio. And I had a lot more than there is today. Think about all of the
little girls that are sitting at home saying, 'I want to be a country music
singer.' What do you tell them? What do you do? How do you look at them and
say, 'Well, just work hard, sweetie, and you can do it,' When that's not the
case."
Carrie's comments come after Nashville-based newspaper
The Tennessean revealed just 10.4 per
cent of the songs that received country radio airplay (not including duets
with men) were by female artists in 2017, a drop of almost three per cent from
2016's 13 per cent tally.
In addition, Carrie maintained that there are "so
many guys out there" landing number one spots on the country music charts,
whereas women are struggling to even get noticed.
Carrie's recent single "Cry Pretty" peaked
at #9 on US Country Airplay and moved 10-6
on Country Mediabase Chart (6,326 spins; 34.143 million audience)
Saving Country Music posted A
couple of days after Carrie Underwood called out country radio for not
supporting strong women, it’s become official that Carrie Underwood’s latest
single “Cry Pretty” is done at radio, will be the worst-performing
single of her career, and has tanked two weeks ahead of her new album of the
same name being released, instead of cresting on the charts as per normal. On
the Mediabase chart “Cry Pretty” has now lost 12,569 points, and slipped from
#6 to #24.
“Cry Pretty” will come to rest at #5 on the Billboard
Hot Country Songs chart which takes into consideration both radio play and
consumption. This will be the first single of Carrie Underwood’s career to not
reach at least #2 on either the Billboard Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay
charts tracing back 23 total singles, all the way to her 2005 debut, “Jesus,
Take The Wheel.” 15 of those singles made it to #1.
