April 25, 2025 NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Contemporary country breakout vocal
group, Daves Highway, defined by its exceptional harmonies and
introspective lyrics, has announced the release of its new single, “Happy
To Be Sad."*The original recording, written by the Daves
siblings (Delaney, Zach and Erika Daves) alongside Bill
DiLuigi and Jude Toy, and produced by Geoff Sprung (bassist
for award-winning, seven-time ACM and CMA Vocal GroupOld Dominion),is AVAILABLE NOW (preferred music
platform) under the Good Company Ent. Records imprint.
Characterized
by blood harmonies, melancholic vocals and picturesque storytelling, the
musical monologue, "Happy To Be Sad" flows like a page from a
personal diary chronicling moments and memories caught betwixt happiness
and delusion, and the back and forth between holding on and letting
go.Pointed lyrics ("can't be good to want somebody that
bad,""...between gone for good and good as it gets")
are the highlight of the "so long, good-bye" break-up song. The
tick-tock clock rhythm beat keeps time to drive the direction.
"The
song and the sentiment came from a real personal place. It's about the
muddling through and making it," introduced Daves Highway master
guitarist, Zach Daves. “You know you have to go through the
hard moments to realize you weren't in a good place; and to get there,
you just gotta experience it,” said bassist Delaney Daves.“...where
it finally feels good to be on the other side of the end of a
relationship as the final destination – a better 'place',” added Daves
Highway lead singer, and youngest sister, Erika Daves.
The
production showcases smooth yet soaring elements of the magical
three-part, spirit-to-spirit vocals drawing listeners into the
illustrative narrative of love, loss and moving on.
The
lead single from Daves Highway waterfall series, "Happy To Be
Sad" sets the landscape as an early introduction to the band's fifth
album,IF YOU ASKED ME, featuring five original tunes and the
trio’s interpretation of Martina McBride’s iconic hit ballad “Anyway”
anticipated in August 2025.
ABOUT Dynamic
harmonies, honest lyrics and soft-rock, country fusion instrumentals
characterize the musical triad–bringing a new organic sound to the contemporary

Daves
Highway is
an intertwined, free-spirited breath of fresh air making a difference one song,
and three harmonies, at a time.
The
band name is family lineage derived early on when Zach (guitar), Delaney
(bass), and Erika (lead vocals) traveled across the country as youngsters. The
clan's shared passion for music, "together is better" philosophy, and
unwavering "all or nothing" gumption, forms a tightly-knit bond in
mutual trust and genuine friendship. Yet, each brings their own unique,
individual talents to the assembly.
