On her Facebook page Hannah shares: This song is written directly from my personal experiences with several different people. I was extremely nervous about releasing it and sharing the experiences I have either blamed myself for, tried to block-out, reason or explain away over the years. After advice from my close, trusted circle of strong women and wonderfully supportive men, it was clear this is a song which, sadly, many people will relate to and that it should be shared. I hope that it may play some small part in reducing the stigma surrounding these issues.
All proceeds from downloads and streams of ‘Sorry’ will be donated to Women’s Aid. You can also donate directly to support their incredible and vital work here:
It’s also important to note that whilst I am speaking here about my own experiences as a woman, and statistically women are more likely to experience sexual violence and domestic abuse, these are issues that can also affect men. Women’s Aid provide information on where male survivors can go for support, and the National Domestic Violence Helpline offers support to both men and women.

ABOUT Women’s Aid:
Mission: Everyone has the human right to live in safety and free from violence and abuse. Society has a duty to recognise and defend this right.
The national charity for women and children working to end domestic abuse.
Over the past 40 years Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice. We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, listening and responding to their needs.
We are a federation of over 220 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. We provide expert training, qualifications, and consultancy to a range of agencies and professionals working with survivors or commissioning domestic abuse services and award a National Quality Mark for services which meet our quality standards. Our campaigns achieve change in policy, practice, and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.

The 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (run in partnership with Refuge) and our range of online services, which include the Survivors’ Forum, help hundreds of thousands of women and children every year.

Genre: Americana/Roots
Home Town: Liverpool / London
Hannah Rose Platt is an enchanting singer-songwriter, talented storyteller and guitarist.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Hannah began playing the guitar when she was five, teaching herself how to play. Her musical education came from her stepfather who would encourage her to listen to a wide variety of music, scouring his extensive record collection for inspiration for her
Her melodic, poetic and accessible music offers self-written narratives to ordinary people who had no one to unfurl their stories; tales of luck, stoicism, loneliness, love, heartbreak and hope. While avoiding clichés, she warmly builds characters like an author, penning songs that almost eavesdrop on other people’s lives.

The 5 track EP 1954... AND OTHER STORIES (Bonus Track Version) dropped Aug 27, 2013 (Amazon UKUK iTunes).
Title cut 1954 (featured in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks several times) is told through the eyes of an elderly woman suffering from dementia who waits every night for her husband to pick her up as she recalls their first date, while Birthday Card is a tender letter from a mother written to her daughter from prison.
Lyrics are the mainstay of her work, while subtle acoustic arrangements and beautiful guitar hooks form an uplifting backdrop. Hannah’s stories get under your skin…she plays with sentiment without being saccharine, focusing on optimism infused with realism and honesty.

She recorded her 12-track debut album PORTRAITS in Nashville (produced by herself and Michael Bonagura) where she worked with some of the industry’s leading names including Grammy award-winning musicians Mark Fain, (Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton), Stuart Duncan (Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss) and Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers, Elvis Costello). PORTRAITS was self-released on March 16, 2015 (Amazon UKUK iTunes)
The album received widespread critical acclaim with considerable airplay on BBC Introducing, Ralph McLean Country (BBC Radio Ulster), The Front Porch with Baylen Leonard at Amazing Radio (now Chris Country Radio), Resonance FM, and Europe’s leading country radio station CMR Nashville.
Portraits was included in Glamour Magazine’s ‘Summer soundtrack 2015, featured in several ‘Best Of 2015’ lists, and also featured on the back cover of Maverick Magazine and on their compilation CD.

Last year she released 2 singles “Yellow Roses” on March 31, 2017 (Amazon UKUK iTunes) and “Chanel & Cigarettes” on June 29, 2017 (Amazon UKUK iTunes)

Hannah’s performance highlight of 2015 was a slot at SUMMERTYNE AMERICANA FESTIVAL 2015, (alongside artists such as Rosanne Cash and Emmylou Harris) as well as gigging up and down the country with acts such as Don Gallardo, Sid Griffin, and BJ Barham.
Hannah was invited to legendary BBC presenter Bob Harris’ home to film an ‘Under the Apple Tree Session’ for Whispering Bob TV. She has also appeared several time on Liverpool’s Local TV Channel BAY TV and delivered a Masterclass lecture on song-writing and her independent record release at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Hannah’s gigging highlight of 2016 year was being chosen to perform by Baylen Leonard, at the inaugural ‘NASHVILLE MEETS LONDON’ festival at Canary Wharf alongside acts such as Logan Brill and award-winning Nashville artist Ty Herndon.
Hannah, now based in London continues to write for her second album, and performs gigs across the UK with a five-piece band.
She currently doesn’t have any upcoming events. Website

London-based Americana musician debuts compassionate and mesmerising album… This gifted storyteller takes the essence of human struggles, love and heartbreak, and intertwines them into tender songs surrounded by hope and fragility… Hannah Rose Platt has compiled a touching and sweet album featuring songs based upon honest and relatable stories which will surely launch a successful musical career. * * * * – Maverick Magazine

Every song on the album is a miniature picture, a thumbnail sketch frozen in time. There's almost a sense of 'Pictures in an Exhibition' as successive tracks pass in front of you; each one having its own characters and its own story to tell…This is a remarkable debut album. Hannah is an artist who really knows what she is doing and where she is going. She's going to the top.” - Fatea Magazine
