(8 Oct 2018)  Ward Thomas say they have agonized over the decision to delay the release of their album (was planned for October) and bring it out "at the right time".

The female chart topping duo previously announced that the release of their upcoming album, Restless Minds, is being held back until early 2019. In an email to fans they explain the situation:

"We are very conscious that this may be frustrating and a disappointment to you, but after spending months pouring our life experiences into writing the songs, putting blood, sweat and tears into the recordings and working late into the night doing and re-doing vocals, we have finally got to a stage in our creative process where we feel completely happy. Our team have mirrored our excitement and we all feel that we want to release the album at the right time to ensure it gets every possible chance.

 "There will be lots of things to hear from Restless Minds between now and 1st February as a taster of what to expect on the album, and we have lots of exciting plans for 2019. 

"We are so sorry to delay the release but we hope that you can bear with us and we really hope you’ll agree that it is worth the wait

Winning a closely contested battle for chart supremacy, Funky Friday opened atop the chart for Dave & Fredo.

Becoming the first single to debut at No.1 since Drake’s Nice For What in April, and the first by a British act since Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You in January 2017, the track’s consumption of 54,421 units (50,403 streaming units + 4,018 paid-for sales) was 5.38% above the 51,641 sales of Calvin Harris & Sam Smith’s Promises, which consequently drifted to No.2 after five weeks in pole position.

A last gasp victory putting paid to the chart-topping aspirations of Twenty One Pilots.

The Ohio duo were on automatic pilot and set to land atop the album chart for the first time but crash land at No.2 on consumption of 29,835 copies of their fifth studio set Trench (including 4,651 from sales-equivalent streams). They led the chart flashes all week but were overhauled at the last by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s Motion Picture Cast Recording of A Star Is Born, which opened at No.1 on consumption of 31,816 units, including 6,178 from sales-equivalent streams and 25,368 from paid-for sales.

Foster & Allen with Putting On The Style fell 29-51 in their second frame (2,000 sales),

Kylie Minogue with GOLDEN fell 46-73 (1,500 sales) in her 21st chart frame.

(11 Oct 2018) Ben Ransom ft Sharon O'Neill - Young Years rockin up the Charts!

For Rising star, Ben Ransom, the Dragon classic "Young Years" holds a special place in his heart. His Mum - who sadly passed away from brain cancer - was looked after by the same palliative care nurse who took care of Marc Hunter in his final days. Releasing the song was Ben's way to honour his Mum and the late Marc Hunter, an artist Ben has always looked up too. Fellow songwriter Aly Cook sent Ben's version to the song's writers - Sharon O'Neill & Alan Mansfield (Dragon, Robert Palmer Band) . Sharon loved Ben's version of 'Young Years' and graciously accepted the invitation to record a guest vocal and appear in the >> music video, filmed in an old drive in theatre in Dubbo.

In Windsor, Ontario-based singer-songwriter Francine Honey's world, standard sweetheart greetings take on a whole new meaning.

"How many people come home after a long day at work and say, 'hey honey, I'm home!?" she asks. "With 'Honey' as a last name, this normal expression takes on a new meaning, so I started saying 'hey, honey Honey, I'm home!' That became the beginning of the chorus."

The result is the decidedly sultry make-you-move single, "Honey" and its equally sexy come-hither video - both available now with her new album, To Be Continued... out today!

Congratulates Hannah Mulholland, of Wheelhouse Records' Runaway June, who wed longtime boyfriend, IAN JAY, over the weekend. The pair tied the knot in the CALIFORNIA REDWOODS among immediate family. The pair first announced their engagement last September.

"WE ELOPED!" shared Mulholland via INSTAGRAM. "We had a beautiful day in the California Redwoods with our immediate family. A rainy morning hike, ceremony in the forest with our amazing family playing live music, followed by an amazing local vegan dinner prepared especially for us...[Nine] guests, [two] days, and [one] epic celebration."

Just days after taking home three awards at the 2018 American Music Awards, Kane Brown is celebrating another huge milestone. The singer married his longtime girlfriend, Katelyn Jae, in a ceremony outside of Nashville on Friday evening (Oct. 12), according to People.

The outlet confirms that Brown and Jae exchanged traditional vows in front of around 200 friends and family, and that the bride wore a "simple, comfortable and understated gown."

(11 Oct 2018) The Music Modernization Act Is Signed Into Law

It's official, as PRESIDENT TRUMP has signed the Orrin G. Hatch-Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act. THE VERGE reported, "The bill, heralded by labels, musicians, and politicians, unanimously passed through both the House and Senate before going to the President. The bill revamps Section 115 of the U.S. Copyright Act and aims to bring copyright law up to speed for the streaming era. These are the act’s three main pieces of legislation:

The MUSIC MODERNIZATION ACT, which streamlines the music-licensing process to make it easier for rights holders to get paid when their music is streamed online

The Compensating Legacy Artists for their Songs, Service, & Important Contributions to Society (CLASSICS) Act for pre-1972 recordings

The Allocation for Music Producers (AMP) Act, which improves royalty payouts for producers and engineers from SoundExchange when their recordings are used on satellite and online radio (Notably, this is the first-time producers have ever been mentioned in copyright law.)"

(12 Oct 2018) Ed Sheeran earned $99,000-a-day over the past year

Ed Sheeran is the richest solo artist in the world, pulling in an estimated $99,000 (GBP 75,000)-a-day over the last year.

The 27-year-old singer's company, Ed Sheeran Ltd, raked in over $47 million (GBP36 million), and paid more than $6.6 million (GBP5 million) in tax, according to newly-released accounts obtained by NME.com.

That puts Ed ahead of stars like Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Taylor Swift and Adele on the earning scale.

But Sheeran's windfall is expected to slow down drastically next year (19), when he calls time on his Divide tour and takes a lengthy hiatus to focus on other pursuits - like acting and baby making.

In a recent BBC interview, the Shape of You singer revealed he is looking forward to a well deserved break after his touring commitments were extended by six months - the world trek was initially scheduled to end in September (18), but the heavy demand for tickets forced Ed to add more dates that will keep him on the road until March (19).

"(I'll have spent) three years on tour... and that's why I think I'll do something (else)...," he said, "I will go off for another bit of time. I like musicals that are a little bit different. I love Lion King... Once is a really good musical... I'd like to do something like that. I'd like to make one movie, just one."

(14 Oct 2018) Michael Buble is quitting music, or is he?

Michael Buble has announced plans to retire from music in what he calls his last interview.

According to the Canadian crooner, his upcoming album, Love, will be his last record as he’s decided to retire from the spotlight after his five-year-old son Noah’s battle with cancer gave him a new perspective on life.

“This is my last interview,” he told the Daily Mail in an emotional conversation. “I’m retiring from the business. I’ve made the perfect record and now I can leave at the very top.”

Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016, and has now made a full recovery.

However, Michael and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, are still reeling from the emotional impact of the traumatic time, and the entire experience transformed the Haven’t Met You Yet hitmaker’s outlook on life and his award-winning career.

UPDATE: "(Michael) is absolutely not retiring," his publicist told Us Weekly. "He is not going anywhere."

The official explained the multi-Grammy Award winner was "talking about the emotions he was feeling during his son's illness".

His management team has also reportedly issued a separate statement to one of the musician's Facebook fan accounts, The Buble Insider.

"The rumours and reports that Michael is quitting is completely false," reads the message. "We ask everyone to not share any of these tabloid stories and delete any posts already shared to the Buble Insider and personal pages. Thank you members!"
