Danny McMahon was the big winner at the 2019 UK Country Music Awards. The Bristol-based singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer snagged three of the eight Awards during the evening.... UK Male Country Singer Of The Year, The UKCountryRadio.com Song Award for "When I See You" and the top Award of the night, UK Country Artist Of The Year.

The Wandering Hearts are crowned UK Country Group Of The Year Award

The inaugural Gary Perkins Angel Award (for an outstanding contribution) was received by Gary's long-time guitar player Andy Mottram who organised a series of fundraising concerts in Gary's memory.

The number of votes received in the first round of online voting (that determine the nominees) are no longer a factor in determining the winner.

UKCountryRadio.com’s 12th Birthday Party and UK Country Music Awards took place on Saturday 14th September 2019 at Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport.



The event included:

UKCountryRadio.com whose claim and unmissable slogan is they play "The Hottest Country Music for the UK, 24 hours a day", enjoyed a fabulous night of live music, a three-course dinner and the presentation of The UK Country Music Awards, celebrating the best in UK Country Music.

The event was hosted by UKCountryRadio.com presenters Allan Watkiss (CEO | Presenter Page) and Lexie Green  after she performed a special pre-show set.

There were 8 live performances and 8 award presentations split into segments below. Bournemoth based singer-songwriter Helena Mace performed as an acoustic trio while Wayne Jacobs, a multiple 7x winner of UKCountryRadio.com’s Listeners' Club Song Award in previous years performed his 2019 nominated song "Father Daughter Dance". Fellow UKCountryRadio.com Song Award Finalists, the Perth-based band Longstay performed a set, including their song "Summerton". UKCountryRadio.com were delighted that six-piece London-based band Grand Prairie, the stations guilty pleasure, returned to perform once again this year. And UK Country Group of the Year Finalists Dirt Road Diary also take to the stage to perform. They were joined by Danny McMahon and his band (who rounded out the proceedings), Paul Martin and Blueridge and country, Americana and blues singer-songwriter Lexie Green.

LONGSTAY are a young band playing a lively mix of country rock and Americana music, based out of their home city of Perth. Originally formed as a trio in 2014, they quickly became regulars on the local music scene, and have grown to a 5-piece full country sound with the addition of drums, bass and piano. Despite having this 4-year pedigree on the live circuit, the average age of the band is still only 17!
Malcolm Swan and Callum Campbell, who front the band (Cameron McCafferty - Bass, George Staniforth - Piano/Keyboard), have been playing music together for four years, and this shines through in their live performances where their interaction and ease is evident on stage. Read More

The following days Sat Jan 26 it was #3 (#119 UK iTunes all-genres), Sun Jan 27: #2 (#210 UK iTunes all-genres), then #6 (#401 UK iTunes all-genres)

In a Facebook post front man Darren Hodson spoke about his 2-year journey and this project: “I’m really proud of this record, I honestly believe it’s the best work I’ve ever done and I couldn’t be happier with it, for many reasons but mainly because it sounds “like us”. Somewhere in-between Country and Americana with a British accent, a love child of dual Nationality, Anglo-American heritage dressed in Country colours. Thanks to preorders it debuted at No.1 on the UK Country iTunes Singles Charts (#184, #209, #255 UK iTunes all-genre) and held the top slot for around 5 hours before falling back the same day to #4 (#304 all-genres) and then #7 (#433 all-genres).
