Iconic duo and “international sensation”, the Bellamy
Brothers, will embark on their 2017 World Tour in Dubai, Singapore, Switzerland, Ireland and Faroe Islands.
David and Howard Bellamy leave this week to criss-cross the globe and celebrate
their 25th Anniversary of their own record label, Bellamy Brothers Records,
which licenses products in more than 30 countries.
The duo’s upcoming performance in Singapore also resulted in another licensing deal with EQ Music and Media for their 40 Years: The Album, a compilation of past hits and new songs that encompasses “Let Your Love Flow,” ”Redneck Girl” and “If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)” and 20 new songs.
The Bellamy Brothers wrapped up 2016 with television, radio, print and online features, including performances and appearances on “Fox & Friends,” “PBS Metro Focus,” SiriusXM’s Prime Country, “Celebrity Page,” “Good Day New York,” Fox News Radio, as well as features on DoYouRemember.com and a 4-page spread in Closer Weekly.
Howard and David Bellamy have created one of the most successful careers in the history of country music with 27 Top 10 and 14 No. 1 singles among a catalog that includes “Let Your Love Flow,” “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” “Redneck Girl,” “Old Hippie,” and “Kids Of The Baby Boom.”
But, that only tells a mere fraction of the story of The Bellamy Brothers. A close look at their concert schedules over the past two decades reveals one of the most global careers in the history of country music. The duo has taken their music to a wide variety of countries across the world over the years – including stops in Germany, Norway, and Sweden.
The Bellamy Brothers performed a sold-out string of shows with Swiss superstar Gola – adding his name to a list of collaborators over the years that has included Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, George Jones and Blake Shelton. In Switzerland, their crowds numbered into the 70,000 range, as well – demonstrating their international appeal.
In addition, the Bellamy Brothers have taken their music to places where no other country act has ever performed, such as Qatar, Sri Lanka, New Caledonia and even India. In fact, one of their classic hits there made an impact on the audience unlike any the duo has ever seen in the states.
In a 2014 interview with Billboard, David recalled that on one of their India visits that “People came up to us and asked 'Are you going to do the 'first dance' song? We weren't sure what they were talking about, but it was 'Beautiful Body' because they use it as the first dance song at weddings. You never know how someone will interpret a song, I guess," he said. Of course, the song that he is referring to is their first No. 1 country hit, 1979’s “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me).”
And, as The Bellamy Brothers gear up for their next forty years, they are keeping their close ties with their fans abroad. Howard and David take a lot of pride in pleasing the audience – regardless of which continent their feet are planted on.
“We have been very blessed to have taken our music to a lot of venues and destinations that have always surprised us,” said Howard Bellamy. “Regardless of where we might be, what makes each night special is that relationship with the fans, and getting to hear them sing along. After all,” he reasons, ‘Redneck Girls’ are everywhere.

ABOUT THE BELLAMY BROTHERS:
Howard and David continue to prove that the trail they’ve ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself—music that is now celebrating 40 years of success. The road that started on the pop music charts in the ‘70’s, took a winding turn into country music in the ‘80’s, paving the way for duos to come, such as Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Big & Rich, and The Judds. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David, rocketed them to the top of the country charts the way “Let Your Love Flow,” had done in the pop market just a few years earlier. It proved to be the first of a string of fourteen No. 1 singles in the U.S. alone. They’re the only U.S. country music act who've toured in India, Sri Lanka, New Caledonia and Qatar. The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy nods have also been directed toward the brothers.
