The pride and smile that comes across your face, when reflecting on where you grew up, “Hometown” achieves this heartwarming feeling expanding beyond a physical destination.
“I was raised in a
very small town in Oklahoma and that was a big inspiration behind this song,
and honestly a bunch of the songs that I write,” comments Hayes, “This
song in particular focused on the reasons why you'd never want to leave your
hometown, and why you'd end up returning to your roots or returning to
your hometown eventually.”
Amber Hayes penned the song with Bill
DiLuigi and JP Williams years ago. It wasn’t until
after she was selected for the new HGTV series, Home Town,
in which the hosts, husband-and-wife team, Ben and Erin, did a complete
overhaul and renovation on Hayes newly purchased home in Laurel, Mississippi
that Hayes brought the song to life and recorded the track. Reflecting the
purpose behind the show, “My Hometown” is featured during Hayes’ episode,
airing on HGTV on May 23.

Country artist Amber Hayes is as gracious as
she is talented, and considering Amber counts singer, songwriter, theater
performer and actress among her credits as an entertainer, that says a lot.
Over the past few years, the Oklahoma native has been touring and performing at
fairs, festivals and performance venues across the country.
She has performed as the opening act for one of
her biggest musical influences, Reba McEntire, and she has entertained fans
overseas at military bases and International festivals, including the Country
Gold Festival in Japan and the Scandinavian Country Music Festival in Sweden.
She has made multiple appearances performing
the national anthem at NFL and NBA games.
Her first break at Country radio was with her debut EP C’mon in
2010, which landed her two Top 40 singles (“C’mon,”
“Wait”) on the national MusicRow
Country Breakout chart.
In 2012, she released her sophomore album,
titled ANY DAY IS A GOOD DAY.
Her latest release, the 5 track EP titled RUNNING
OUT OF MEMORIES (released 4
Nov 2014 | Amazon UK | iTunes), featured three songs
produced by Bobby Terry, as well as a remix of her previously released tune, “Me & Loretta,” and a new rendition
of the classic “Cotton Eyed Joe,”
which was featured in the family-film, Cowgirls ‘N Angels 2: Dakota’s
Summer.
More recently, Hayes released the track “Hero’s
Heart” (released 13 May 2015 | Amazon UK | iTunes) in honor of her uncle
who was honored with the Medal of Honor, the United States of America’s highest
military honor.
