Keith Urban joined Graham Norton and a host of guests including wifey & Oscar winner Nicole Kidman (starring in Civil War drama The Beguiled), actor Alan Cumming (talking about his memoir You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams) and singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow (who performed "Be Myself" the title cut from her new album) for a chat on the sofa, discussing his new album RIPCORD, which was recently certified platinum – his ninth consecutive No.1 album.
‘The
Fighter’ is the first UK single
released from Urban’s new album and is available now on Decca Records.
It’s been added to the BBC Radio 2 “A” Playlist for the week commencing
Say May 20, 2017.
Accompanied by a brand new music video, the upbeat and infectious track tells the classic tale of young love. Co-written by busbee and Urban, inspired by the singer’s wife Nicole Kidman, the song features Urban and Underwood’s distinctively explosive vocals and Urban’s heartfelt lyrics and contagiously catchy chorus.
“Writing
‘The Fighter’ came pretty quickly,” said Urban. “I could hear most of the
song already in my head on the ride to the studio that day, where busbee and I
were already working. I was thinking about how long it’d been since I heard a
song with a guy and girl actually speaking back and forth to each other.”
The release
of RIPCORD in 2016 marked the second time one of Urban’s albums simultaneously topped the all-genre charts in America, Canada and Australia. The
album has produced four No.1
songs, including ‘Wasted Time’, ‘John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16’ and
‘Break On Me’.

streams, over 524 million on RIPCORD alone, and his previous single ‘Blue
Ain’t Your Color’ spent 13 weeks as one of the most streamed songs of any
genre.
In
