The
Billboard 200 chart measures multi-metric album consumption, which includes
traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent
albums (SEA).
P!nk claimed her third total and
consecutive No.1 album on the Billboard
Top 200 Album Chart (BB200), as Hurts 2B Human arrived atop the tally with 115,000 equivalent album units earned
in the U.S. in the week ending May 2, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 95,000 were in album sales. Hurts
follows P!nk’s previous leaders Beautiful Trauma (2017) and The Truth About
Love (2012).
At
No.2 Hillsong United with People debuted, marking the act’s fourth top 10 and
highest-charting effort yet. The live set arrives with 107,000 equivalent album
units earned -- the largest week for a Christian music album in 2019. With
101,000 copies it claimed the week’s top-selling album and the act’s best sales
week yet.
Top
Country Albums now ranks the most popular country albums of the week, as
compiled by Nielsen Music, based on multi-metric consumption (blending traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA)).
10 digital track sales from an
album = 1 track equivalent album (TEA)
“sale”
1,500 on demand song streams from
an album to one streaming equivalent album (SEA) “sale”.
Nielsen
Music compiles the sales and streaming data. Billboard continues to publish pure album sales charts (subscription to
billboard biz ), exclusively comprising
Nielsen’s sales data.

On the Country Album Sales list (pure sales;

Maddie & Tae with 5-track EP One HEART TO ANOTHER (Mercury Nashville | Amazon UK - UK iTunes - Amazon.com) made a debut at No.22
The duo’s debut release on Mercury features five tracks, predominantly
co-written by Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, including single “Friends Don’t.”
Kiefer
Sutherland with 10 track RECKLESS & ME
(BMG | Amazon UK - UK iTunes - Amazon.com) made a debut at No.24.
Jack Ingram with RIDIN' HIGH...AGAIN made a debut at No.35.
Steel Blossoms with 10 tracks STEEL BLOSSOMS (Billy Jam Records | Amazon
UK - UK iTunes - Amazon.com ) made a debut at No.37.
Steel
Blossoms is the musical collaboration of Sara Zebley and Hayley Prosser,
artists (and former elementary school teachers) who met by chance at a festival
in their home state of Pennsylvania, where each was performing with separate
groups. They recognized an instant chemistry and a shared perspective; an
appreciation for life’s moments, ironies and quirky little truths.
The
two began to write together, while also growing more involved in the music
scene in and around Pittsburgh. Sara and Hayley made their way to Nashville and
Steel Blossoms quickly bloomed as regulars at Music City honkytonks, and as
house concert favorites. Soon, the duo began playing top flight clubs, concert
venues and festivals across the US, sharing the stage with artists including Rhonda
Vincent, Tracey Lawrence and Collin Raye.
A
debut EP, Year Number One, was released in 2015, followed by a full-length
album, Country Enough, one year later. Steel Blossoms caught the ear of
multi-award-winning songwriter, Jerry Salley, who had become the Creative and
A&R Director of Nashville’s newest Americana label, Billy Jam Records. In
early 2019, Steel Blossoms became the first act signed to the emerging label.
Darryl Worley with 15-track SECOND WIND: Latest & Greatest (BFD/The Orchard | Amazon
UK - UK iTunes - Amazon.com) made a debut at No.44.
The
compilation includes fresh new takes on many of Worley's hit songs, including
"Have You Forgotten," "Awful Beautiful Life,"
"Tennessee River Run," and "I Miss My Friend."
The project also contains seven new tunes that put an unexpected spin on a
familiar voice. He describes the recording project as a musical passion that
continues to get better with time.
"Who would've ever dreamed that I'd still
be doing this after all these years. I'm not totally certain, but I think the
music could be better than ever," says Worley. "This record is
something unlike anything else we've ever done and I know you're going to love
it. I hope y'all have as much fun listening to this new stuff as we had making
it."
Second Wind is the first full-length album released
by Worley in eight years, following a self-imposed hiatus from recording while
focusing on family and his longtime commitment of giving back to those in need
through his charity, The Darryl Worley Foundation. The album is co-produced by
Worley and Billy Lawson.
The
project mixes his love of traditional country with the rugged soul found deep
in the heart of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, an area known for its rich musical
legacy and powerhouse recordings of Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Wilson Pickett
and the Rolling Stones. It's also where Worley got his start, bringing things
full circle for the singer's extraordinary career.
In addition to his regular touring schedule,
Worley recently announced his "Coming to Your House" tour, a series
of concerts that brings the country star to your very own living room for an
intimate live performance.

Rice with “Eyes
on You” (Dack Janiels/Broken Bow) rose 2-1 in its 38th week on
Billboard’s Country Airplay chart (dated May 11), increasing by 6% to 38.5
million audience impressions in the week ending May 5, according to Nielsen
Music.
“Eyes,” which Rice wrote with Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano, became
the artist’s first Country Airplay leader among three top 10s. “All I can think
to say is, this isn’t my first No.1 at all,” said Rice.
“The ups and downs over
the last few years and all the songs that paved the way for ‘Eyes’ have changed
my perspective on life and this business for the better. I wouldn’t change a
thing. Yes, you work your ass off for your first No.1 song, but so do the
people around you who make it all happen, from the songwriters, musicians, band
and crew to country radio programmers and many more. [They] are the reason this
song has found its way to the top of the charts. This is our first No.1 song,
together.”
Rice, 33, who previously worked as a NASCAR pit crew member for Hendrick
Motorsports and placed second on the 21st season of CBS’ Survivor in 2010, has
charted seven Country Airplay entries dating to his 2013 debut. Before his
first leader, “Ready Set Roll” hit No. 5 in 2014 and “Gonna Wanna Tonight”
reached No. 2 in 2015.
“Eyes” is Rice’s second Country Airplay No.1 as a writer: He co-penned
Florida Georgia Line’s debut smash, “Cruise,” which reigned for three weeks in
2012 and led Hot Country Songs, which combines airplay, streaming and sales
data, for a then-record 24 frames.
