(29 April 2019) The Founders Of Lyric Magazine And Off The Record Uk Are Proud To Announce The Launch Of Triple Fret Entertainment, The Uk’s Independent Country Music Record Label.
Imogen and Emily have started their own label, Triple Fret Entertainment is set to bring a “stellar roster of talented artists”, under both management and subsidiary, ‘Triple Fret Records’. Leading out with three acts that they believe are going to be at the forefront of the industry, to be announced at an exclusive launch event on the 15th May. Country music is a continuously growing market in the UK and the founders (Emily Haine & Imogen Marshall) hope to make history with Triple Fret Entertainment being home to some of the leading acts in UK country music.

With backgrounds in music business, touring, publishing, marketing, PR and advertising respectively, the founders of Triple Fret are a formidable team of young, female entrepreneurs. Indeed, prior to the founding of Triple Fret Entertainment, both the co-founders of the company independently created their media outlets – Lyric Magazine, one of the leading independent country music magazines in the UK, and Off the Record, the leading UK country music podcast.
Co-founder Emily Haine shared:  ‘This has been a dream for Imogen and I for a while and we’ve noticed that there is a huge gap in the market to fill for country music. Media has been covered with press outlets, radio, PR and some fantastic festivals, but nothing to support UK artists when releasing their music and developing their careers.’

The band are delighted to be part of CMA Fest saying, “This is an incredible opportunity for us to play in the home of Country and at the world’s biggest Country event.

We can’t wait to take to the CMA Fest stage. This is a huge endorsement of who we are as an act and we are so grateful”.
Their debut single "Leave" comes out May 10.

(3 May 2019) 24-year-old Martin Boyd who hails from Chesterfield, Derbyshire released his first ever self-penned song “Time to Play Some Country Songs” (Single; 1265535 Records DK | Amazon UK - iTunes - Spotify) which debuted at #9 on the UK Country iTunes Singles Chart.
He shared: “I had the pleasure of working with a good friend Russ Kitchin from a band called Badlands. Really good rock/ country. I just put this song to him and he said let’s just record it and let’s see what we can do with it”.

He continues: "I'm passionate about Country Music is a slight understatement. I was just totally hooked Garth Brooks is a personal favourite of mine, the man is a legend in the world of Country Music and someone I look up to as a singer and as a person, a great role model for me, the guy won Entertainer of the Year at the recent CMA awards for the fifth time, a first for any artist and with that sort of pedigree I feel I am on the right track This is not to say I am trying to be a Garth Brooks Copy, I feel that every singer what every the genre must find his or her own unique sound and style, that does not happen overnight, it takes time and hard work but something I will strive hard to achieve. Along with my own solo career I also have just joined forces with a great bunch of musicians (we’ve called them the “MB Band” for some reason) and we are hoping to branch out to create a completely ‘Live’ sound’, exciting times…
Since then things have progressed massively being managed by Sylvia at Sylvan Entertainments (Website), she does a wonderful job of looking after me and shares my dedication and drive to come closer to my dreams and works very hard.

(7 May 2019) Rock / Americana group Morganway announce selftitled debut
East Anglian rock / Americana collective Morganway will release their 11-track debut self-titled album on August 2nd 2019, and play a selection of tour dates around the UK (dates below).
Morganway was founded in 2016 by twin brothers Callum (vocals/bass) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), and genre-defying keyboard player Matt Brocklehurst. Their numbers quickly grew as their sound developed, with singer SJ Mortimer, whose growling vocals were a perfect complement to the Morgan brothers gritty guitar work, and fiddle player Nicole J Terry joining the ranks. On the choice of adding another lead instrument to the band, Callum explained that, "both Kieran and Nicole have very individual playing styles, and that combination allows their instruments to play off one another in quite distinctive ways, sometimes harmonising or in total contrast."

The last member to officially join was drummer Ed Bullinger, whose diverse playing adds an urgent, yet tactful texture to the fray.Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and other classic guitar bands such as The Eagles, Morganway have quickly built a name for themselves on the UK live circuit.

They have already received accolades from Radio 2’s ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris, swathes of recognition from the country press, two nominations from the BCMA awards, support slots with The Shires and an Under The Apple Tree session.

When you think country music, you may not think Providence, Rhode Island. But Charlie Marie is here to prove that “everywhere has a country side.”
Charlie Marie, like so many songwriters, was first introduced to country music by her grandmother. At the age of ten, she was already hooked on Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. Her admiration for their artistry has only grown stronger since and shines through in her own repertoire. With current influences like genre-breaking Margo Price, Charlie is fusing the history of the trailblazers of country music together with a modern-day flair.

CANADIAN NEWS
(6 May 2019) The Heels - Dear Mama
"Dear Mama - A sweet song inspired by mother and daughter dynamics through generations of love, support and rough roads. Written in Nashville TN with Steve Mitchell." - The Heels
The song was released on May 1st (Amazon UK - iTunes)

They shared: "Six months ago we sat around a table and poured our hearts and tears into an unforgettable write. A mix of emotions and childhood memories flooded the room and created a song that means so much to us". #mothersday2019 (Mother's Day is celebrated in Canada & America on May 12, 2019)

The creative union of Bobbi Smith, Brittni Dominelli, and Kyla Rawlins was born of a desire to heal through music, and now they’re carrying that mission forward and sharing it with an ever-growing fanbase. Theirs is a message of optimism and empowerment set to a sweet country soundtrack full of monster hooks and magnetic multi-part harmonies as showcased on their heralded debut LP, 2018’s Love, Heels.
The Heels first came together at a North Vancouver café. Kyla was (and still is) a co-owner, Brittni worked behind the counter, and Bobbi was a frequent customer. Kyla and Brittni had begun making music together in their downtime and, knowing Bobbi was also an artist, invited her to join the fold.
“We all had solo careers in the past and each brought a unique style to the table,” begins Brittni. “So when we first brought it together, it really blended well and we were all inspired by what was happening.”
Shortly after releasing their debut single “Come Around” to radio in the summer of 2017, they were kicking up a frenzy of deserved attention. Then, when 10-track Love, Heels saw daylight on May 25, 2018 (iTunes), they toured the country as radio and media darlings, took to major festival stages like the Calgary Stampede and Sunfest Country Music Festival in Cowichan Valley, BC, and racked up hundreds of thousands of streams across the major platforms. And just a little over a year after dropping their first single, they’d amassed an impressive six nominations for the 2018 BC Country Music Awards in the fall of 2018. PRESS RELEASES
(30 April 2019) Songwriter Gary Nicholson, Alter-Ego Whitey Johnson Share June 7 Release Date For Blue Corn Music Albums The Great Divide And More Days Like This
Texas-born Nashvillian Gary Nicholson probes nation’s fault lines, urges healing; Johnson delivers the medicine in tasty doses of R&B-flavored ‘feel better blues
Gary Nicholson’s mile-long list of achievements as a songwriter, producer and performer includes writing credits on hundreds of country, blues, Americana and pop songs recorded by some of the world’s most badass, no-last-name-needed legends, from B.B., Bonnie, Buddy and Delbert to Ringo, Waylon and Willie. But unless they’ve seen him in action, most people couldn’t pick the two-time Grammy winner out of a lineup. Performing under two different names — his own, and that of “obscure bluesman” Whitey Johnson— while releasing hardly any albums credited to either, has only fanned the air of mystery that seems to surround his career. Wide Open Country premiered tracks
But the simultaneous June 7, 2019 arrival of two new albums — Nicholson’s The Great Divide and Johnson’s More Days Like This— should go a long way toward connecting the dots for fans of the aforementioned legends and legions of other artists who regularly tap the Nashville resident’s talents. Both titles are being released by Texas label Blue Corn Music — a bit of icing on the cake for the 2011 Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee.

(3 May 2019) Billboard: Maddie & Tae on Their New Music and the Unconventional Release Strategy Behind It: 'This Is Such a Big Redemption Story For Us
The rollout of the duo’s sophomore album will be unconventional, too. Maddie & Tae will release the project in three installments, each providing a glimpse of the album’s ongoing theme of love, loss and redemption. Cindy Mabe, president at Universal Music Group, explains that this decision was reached due to the way music fans are discovering and consuming music.
“There’s no longer just one way to market an album,” Mabe notes. “As Maddie & Tae started creating this album, we started looking at how they were connecting and the opportunities that were ahead of them. We had one song at country radio (‘Friends Don’t’), two more at SiriusXM (‘Die From a Broken Heart’ and now ‘Tourist in this Town’), another on a soundtrack for the film Breakthrough (‘People Need People’), an engaged fan base that was really wanting to hear more music, and a major tour with Carrie Underwood starting in May. It made sense for us to give the fans more music to get excited about.”... Read more

COUNTRY GOSSIP
(30 April 2019) Taylor Swift: 'There's no happily ever after'
Speaking about the inspiration for the new tune during an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Taylor Swift admitted that it took her some time to figure out that feeling happy is often a temporary status.
I think when we talk about being happy or loving yourself those are all things that we feel sometimes and maybe this song is a glimpse of that moment when we do feel like that,” she said. "When we’re having the best day, the sun is shining, it’s going to be an okay day, everything’s going to be good, I’m alright with myself.
But I think one thing to always keep tabs on is the fact that we have to know that there is no ‘happily ever after’ where we’re just happy forever. Happiness is always going to be a struggle and a challenge we have to try and meet. Self-worth is always going to be something that it’s a process of trying to get there. That’s not naturally how we’re going to feel all the time.”

(3 May 2019) Hayden Panettiere's Boyfriend Arrested
Former Nashville star Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, has been arrested and charged with domestic violence against the star.

According to TMZ, the couple went out drinking in Hollywood on Wednesday night (May 1), and when they got home, they had an argument that turned physical. It's not clear who called the police, but officers responded to the scene around 2AM on Thursday (May 2) to find redness and marks on the actress' body, and they took Hickerson into custody after interviewing both him and Panettiere....anettiere has been the subject of a number of recent tabloid reports speculating that she has a dysfunctional relationship with Hickerson and that she has been drinking too much. In February of 2019, Us reported that the former Nashville star has not been seeing much of her daughter, Kaya, since splitting with the child's father, boxer Wladimir Klitschko, in August of 2018.
“She knows the child being with her is not best for [Kaya right now],” a source told the magazine. “It’s a sad situation."
The 4-year-old is living with her father in his native Ukraine, where he is raising her with help from his mother. Read More at

(5 May 2019) Carrie Underwood: 'Workouts make me a better woman'
Country star Carrie Underwood always tries to squeeze in an early morning workout because the time alone in the gym makes her a better woman.
The Before He Cheats singer admits carving out the time isn't always easy as a working mother-of-two, but she's found it's the easiest way to get her in a good mood first thing.
"It allows me to be better up there (onstage) having that hour in the morning," she said. "I'm a better mum, I'm a better performer, I'm a better wife. I just feel better when I get to do that."
Getting back into an exercise routine has also been crucial in helping to boost Carrie's self-confidence after welcoming her second child, son Jacob, in January (19), even though she initially struggled to accept her post-baby figure.
In March (19), she shared a candid Instagram post detailing her body battles after a tough few weeks.
"I'm going to be honest, 'bouncing back' after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had (first son) Isaiah and I've been pretty hard on myself lately," she began.
"I go into the gym and I can't run as fast or as far. I can't lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again...for my body to feel the way that I know it can..."
