From the debut of Drake's Apple ad to Green Day's attack on Trump to incredible performances from The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots and more, the highlights far outweighed the low points... but there were a couple of those, too….

Even though she was nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist at Sunday night’s American Music Awards, Cam admitted she felt a tiny bit out of place on the red carpet, especially when she met the Broadway actress and singer who brought Frozen's Elsa to life - “I do feel like starstruck! Like, I just met Idina Menzel and I, like, didn't know what to say,” she laughs. “But it's like really fun! I don't have to perform today, so I get to just be like an audience member and get excited. That's the best of both worlds, where you don't have to be nervous about singing, but you're nominated and get good seats!”

Even though Carrie Underwood ended up taking home the Female Vocalist trophy, Cam still has plenty to look forward to. She’s set to open for George Strait in Las Vegas next year, after she wraps up her Burning House Tour in early December.
Best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the Broadway smash Rent, singer/actress Idina Menzel made her solo debut in 1998 with the pop-soul effort Still I Can't Be Still. She joined the cast for Wicked in 2003 and appeared on the recording that same year, while 2004 saw her releasing the album Here.
Menzel's true pop breakthrough arrived in 2013 via the Disney animated film Frozen and its accompanying soundtrack. Frozen turned into a pop phenomenon in the winter of 2013-2014, thanks in part to the hit single "Let It Go," which was sung by Menzel; the single was an international hit, peaking at five on the Billboard Hot 100 on its way to triple platinum certification. She is one of the artists who performed in the 2016 “CMA Country Christmas” which comes to ABC each Christmas season, hosted by Jennifer Nettles. It will air on Mon Nov 28, 2016 at 8/7c on ABC.

Other American Music Awards Fashion highlights:

Whilst hosting Gigi Hadid has been savaged on social media (reports Daily Mail.com) over her 'racist' impression of Melania Trump during her American Music Awards opening set on Sunday.
It had Favorite Female Artist (Country) nominee Cam laughing in the audience at (2 min 30 >> YouTube). The model, 21, put on a fake Eastern European accent and a pulled Melania-style pout to mock the soon-to-be First Lady in the wake of her recent plagiarism row.

Co-host Gigi Hadid, meanwhile, did an impression of Melania Trump saying, "I love my husband Barack Obama and our children, Sasha and Malia," in reference to Mrs. Trump seemingly plagiarizing one of Michelle Obama's speeches earlier this year. Jay Pharoah did an impression of Trump talking about Bruno Mars, who opened the show: "I love Bruno Mars. I don't know what color his is so I can't deport him....Listen everyone, I love ‘Uptown Funk,’ it was so totally about me, it was originally called ‘Uptown Trump.’ Listen, I’m going to funk this country up, bigly.”

Gigi Hadid has now apologised to those offended by her impersonation of future U.S. First Lady Melania Trump.  Her impression was met with criticism online, with one Twitter user calling it "disrespectful" and another suggesting it was a "little racist". Gigi has now responded to the backlash with a handwritten note, which she uploaded on Twitter, by telling her fans she held no ill will against Melania and was simply doing it for comedic value. “I removed or changed anything in the script that I felt took the joke too far, and whether or not you choose to see it, what remained was done in good humor and with no bad intent,” Gigi wrote. “I too have been the center of a nationally televised comedy skit that poked fun at my actions, and was able to find the humor in it.” “I believe Melania understands show business and the way shows are written and run. I apologize to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country."
