SESAC Celebrates Songwriters and Publishers at 2016
Nashville Music Awards
The huge CMA week got off to an early start on Sunday
night October 30, 2016, held at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, as
performing rights organization SESAC recognized
its most successful songwriters during the annual SESAC Nashville Music Awards.
Songwriter of the Year honors went
to Josh Hoge, whose 2016 output
included “I’m Comin’ Over” for Chris Young and “Think Of You,” a duet
featuring Chris and former USA The Voice champ Cassadee Pope along with singles from social media sensation Kane
Brown.
SESAC’s Song of the
Year for 2016 was “Somewhere On A Beach,” penned by Michael Tyler and Jaron Boyer.
SONY ATV/EMI Foray Publishing and WRITE 2 BE FREE MUSIC won Publisher of the Year honors
The awards dinner featured an evening of memorable musical performances, including Chris Young’s acoustic version of “I’m Comin’ Over,” Margo Price’s unforgettable “Desperate and Depressed” and performances by two of the hottest newcomers, Michael Tyler and Runaway June.
Guest presenters included Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks
Bentley, Billy Currington, Jim Lauderdale, Dustin Lynch, Cassadee Pope
and Chris Young.
The festive black-tie event, hosted by Shannan Hatch,
SESAC’s vice president of Creative Services, honored top songwriters and
publishers behind the year’s biggest hits in the genres of Country and
Americana.

The dress appeared to have an asymmetrical hem black that
was strapless on its left side with sheer fabric running an not only over her
neckline, sleeves, dropping down to her calves.
The co-writer of hit song “Peter Pan” Jesse Lee (Instagram) wore a sleepless black lace dress
with mesh netting panels and joined Kelsea for the presentation.
Cassadee Pope presented
Josh Hoge with the Songwriter Of The Year award. She was wearing a Feathers n Fringe (Website)
satin romper combo. Hair and glam was by Leigh Edwards
& Co. with hair and makeup from Neil
Robison. The neckline fell to her midriff, and she added a glittering
gold choker and black stilettos.
