Multi-PLATINUM
singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley
released the title track from his critically acclaimed album BLACK
(Capitol Records Nashville) today. Written by Bentley, Ross Copperman and
Ashley Gorley, “Black” has been called one of "the sexiest songs of his
career" by the Associated Press and Rolling Stone and is
applauded for being "rich with detailed lyrics only made even more vivid
by Bentley's rasp" (Esquire).
“It’s no
secret that this record is named after my wife, and she was both brave and
generous to let me write about our relationship as the foundation of a lot of
these songs,” said Bentley. “I’ve talked about how it explores some of the
darker corners and edges of the heart, what happens in the black of night, and
this song was really central to forming the rest of the project. It’s probably
not what Cass expected when I told her I’d written a love song and named it
after her, it’s more of an in-the-moment love song.”
The four-time
CMA nominee will make the television premiere of the steamy new single
“Black" live from Nashville on Wednesday during Good Morning
America (ABC at 8:30A local time on 11/2). Tonight (10/31),
Bentley will also perform on ABC's Primetime special All Access
Nashville: Celebrating the CMA Awards with Robin Roberts (ABC
at 9:00P CST on 10/31) in front of a live audience at Nashville's Tootsie’s
Orchid Lounge.
“We can always count on him to contribute some
emotionally deft ballads and subtle bluegrass touches alongside the
alcohol-fueled rousers,” Music Aficionado
promises as it lists BLACK as one of the “10 Country Albums from 2016 You Need
to be Listening To.”
Its sultry new single exposes an "all-consuming love as if it weren’t so different from a black hole" (People) and perfectly illustrates Bentley’s dexterity as an artist as the new track follows two consecutive No. One hits, the GOLD certified “Different for Girls” (featuring Elle King) and the multi-week PLATINUM #1 song of the summer “Somewhere On A Beach.”

Bentley shows his depth and diversity as an artist with
four CMA nominations in the Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of The
Year, Vocal Event of the Year and Video of the
Year categories. "The bluegrass picker,
the love song singer and the stadium rocker
all packaged together” (Associated Press) has
been a Grand Ole Opry member for over a decade and just wrapped the last leg
off his headlining 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR selling out amphitheaters and
venues throughout the country. He also recently announced his 2017 WHAT THE
HELL WORLD TOUR launching Jan. 19 in Dayton, OH, with Cole Swindell and Jon
Pardi. For more information and a full list of tour dates, visit www.dierks.com.
