Born in Glasgow, Kevin McGuire may be Scotland's answer to the Country music wave
currently sweeping the UK.
Beginning his career at the age of 17, Kevin
quickly went on to perform in top venues including King Tuts, the O2 Academy,
ABC and The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Over the last few years, Kevin has managed to build
up a following across parts of the UK from supporting artists ranging from the
likes of Union J to Deacon Blue. Perhaps this says a lot about Kevin's music,
appealing to many age-groups and styles.
Now, having matured and developed a unique sound
(Country-style songwriting mixed with RnB-Pop melodic ideas), Autumn 2016 saw
the release of his single '3am' (Amazon UK | iTunes), as premiered The Scottish Sun and championed by Chris Country. Heavily influenced by the likes of US Country music
superstars Rascal Flatts, and current US chart-topper Sam Hunt, we are able to draw comparisons in the Scot's real-life
emotional storytelling.
Having sold out his debut headline show in Glasgow
at the start of 2017, Kevin has been busy in the studio working towards his
debut EP, FOREIGN COUNTRY, which is
scheduled for release at the end of April.
With a Country2Country
appearance kicking off his busy festival schedule for 2017, Kevin is excited to
announce his latest single, Alright, Tonight!, which showcases
the influence Rascal Flatts have had on his sound.
More country than pop, the Kiz produced track is
all about finding that special one, as Kevin puts, about ‘wanting to put a ring
on it’.
He further explains, ‘Alright, Tonight! brings out
the real country boy in me. It’s such a big part of my sound and what I love. I
wanted to make a record with that feel-good, roll your windows down factor.’
