On her ethereal new single “Wonderland,” folk pop singer-songwriter Emma Charleston captures all the trance-like wonder of being in love. Based at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, the multi-instrumentalist Charleston has in “Wonderland” composed a tender ballad filled with emotional ebbs and flows. “Wonderland” was released digitally via Amazon UK, iTunes, Spotify, and other online sites on March 10th.
According to Charleston, “Wonderland” is an ode to the feelings connected to being in love: “It’s a dreamy song about being in love - and loving every minute of it. I like that I was able to write a love song without being cheesy, and it still expresses exactly how I feel.”
Sonically, “Wonderland” mirrors the wide spectrum of feelings that come with love. The song builds in intensity, eventually leading to an explosive bridge that shows "the darker insecurities" Charleston often battles in her everyday life.
