"We wanted to make our first video as personal as possible so we filmed it in our favourite spots. It is completely raw and honest. We had a great time with it and Ben did an amazing job in capturing the feel of the song.”

Folk/alt-country/Americana/Blues duo Ferris & Sylvester are a London
based duo made up of Issy Ferris
and Archie Sylvester. The two met as
solo musicians, battling through the carnage that is London’s vibrant music
scene and started writing together. In early 2016, Ferris & Sylvester’s
thoughtfully crafted song writing caught the ear of legendary producer
Youth (Paul McCartney/The Verve/
Crowded House). The pair recorded their first record with 4 track THE YELLOW LINE EP (tagged Folk;
released June 23, 2017 UK iTunes)
with Youth in his Space Mountain Studios, Spain.

With clear references in their catchy folk setup to the
mid-60s sounds of NYC’s Greenwich Village such as Bob Dylan and Simon &
Garfunkel, the duo also sit firmly amongst contemporaries like Laura Marling
and Ray Lamontagne.
Their clever combination of Archie’s blues influence and Issy’s soft folk tone has created a distinctive genre of their own.

‘We were both part of the same music scene in Camden until
eventually we met and started doing some writing together. Since then, we’ve
spent most of our days locked away in Archie’s bedroom, writing and recording.
Early last year, we took our scruffy demos and unpolished material over to see
legendary producer Martin ‘Youth’ Glover and stumbled through a few new songs
in his front room. A few months later, we were recording our debut EP with
Youth and his amazing team in his studio in Sierra Nevada. It’s been a great
year - touring Ireland, releasing our EP, and working with some incredible
people.’
Ferris & Sylvester released the video for their new
single ‘Berlin’ (released May 26, 2017) which premiered with The Independent.
Elsewhere on the EP, ‘Cold Summer’ is a heart-warming folk
ballad with themes of loneliness among distinct harmonies and stunning strings,
while ‘This Is What You Get’ closes the EP with a smooth
blues-influence.
They shared with Noctis Mag.com:
“The Yellow Line EP is our first record
as Ferris & Sylvester. For both of us, it felt essential that our first
release was centred around our storytelling. Each song tells a different story;
from sitting on a busy train at rush hour, to pining for the memory of someone
lost, to begging for a broken heart, to getting your heart broken. We feel it
sets the tone for what’s to come with our music.”
Their EP Launch (Facebook Post)
took place on Wed, July 12, 2017 at The
Half Moon, Putney (joined by Joe Corbin)

‘Save Yourself’ has received support from BBC Radio 2 (Morning Acoustic BBC Playlist)
