Dean:
He
started out broadcasting via the internet in the late 90s, during the medium’s
infancy.
In
the early 2000s, joined a popular online station, bringing listeners around the
world hundreds of hours of music and talk. He also worked on the station’s news
team, providing hourly updates on global events and anchoring the weekly
hour-long news programme.
Made
the transition to FM radio in 2005 with the launch of TCR FM in Tamworth. A call-in talkshow Weekend Live also started in
this year. It ran weekly for over four years, often pushing boundaries and
occasionally stirring up some controversy!
A casual interest in country music developed into a real passion in 2010, where ‘New Country’ found its way into his heart during a trip to Mississippi. "I’m very open to all music genres, but I definitely connect best with country" - he shares.
Outside
of radio and music, Dean is a supporter of Aston Villa FC, follows American
Football and enjoys travelling – always looking to explore new places.
I
also like eating out, a lot. My stomach often rules everything else. You'll
frequently hear a food reference when I'm on air.
Sheena
She
started radio life as an entertainment reporter and newsreader for Weekend
Live.
Eventually,
Sheena became the co-host of Weekend Live, keeping Dean in check and providing
another angle on the week’s news and events.
With
the launch of “Dean and Sheena” in 2009, Sheena was given a chance to share
her passion for music with the world.
Sheena
enjoys making jewellery, baking, singing, playing the piano and is currently
learning to play the guitar.
Music
is one of her main passions in life. She describes herself as “an accomplished
singer and 'ok' pianist” and graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a
music degree.
She
is also a budding songwriter and her debut single (released Aug 26, 2015),
written with Gareth from Dexeter, is available on iTunes.
