Penny has kindly shared that the song was co-written by herself,
Dean Scallan & Janine Le Clair last year in Nashville in November and
recorded in December in Nashville. It was inspired by both personal and friends
experiences - when a woman says 'I'm Fine' really, she's NOT!
She feels it's something both women and men can relate to. The
musicians who played on the single are Mark Burchfield (bass guitar), Wanda Vic
Burchfield (fiddle, Dobro, mandolin, banjo & accordian), Scott Williams (drums),
Blair Masters (keyboards) and John Martin on guitar. “I hope the audience will
be able to relate to the song and see the humour in it too”! she reveals.

Penny Jayne Black
Country / Pop / Retro London, ENG, UK
Penny is a UK Singer/Songwriter originally from West Sussex,
but now living in Hampshire via London.
Her love of music came from her father who was in the Navy, instead of reading her children stories at night, he would sing and play her country songs on his guitar. As a result, she would lay awake making up her own songs, so we can say this is when she started writing songs.

Her love of music came from her father who was in the Navy, instead of reading her children stories at night, he would sing and play her country songs on his guitar. As a result, she would lay awake making up her own songs, so we can say this is when she started writing songs.
As Penny grew up, she continued to write songs whilst having
a variety of jobs including working at EMI
Records, which really fuelled her fire to continue with a music career.
Her biggest boost came with a six-week adventure to California, where she immersed herself
in Country Music whilst travelling from L.A to San Francisco and further up the
Northern Coastline.
With this experience, along with influences from leading
female singers of the 80s & 90s era (her favourite is Reba McEntire!), and
the new crop of Singer/Songwriters, she has gone on to develop her own unique
style.
She started performing around the South of England, building up a following, then in 2015 went to Nashville to record six of her songs, returning in April 2016 to complete her 11 Track self-titled album.

In November 2016 Penny released her self-titled debut Country Album (available from her website) 'Penny Jayne Black'
and in December 2016 she promoted her album with a UK Radio Tour.
Her songs are described as a mix of Country/Pop, Alternative,
and Retro Country, Intimate, Powerful & Quirky, with tales of love,
passion, humour, and hope.
