Co-written by Una with Nick
Atkinson and Edd Holloway, Una explains “I wrote "Never See Me
Cry" as an empowerment anthem for anybody who's ever had someone walk all
over them. It's a big 'f you' to a lover, a boss or a friend thats ever made
you feel small or worthless. It's a fight song for everyone out there who are
sick of being dominated - the tides are turning out there and it's clear that
it's our time to take back control'.”
Una has also announced
the Voice Inside Of Me UK Tour, kicking off in Killarney on

Speaking at the launch, the Tipperary native told EVOKE.ie that she has always wanted to release a footwear collection.
‘They’re
all named after song titles,
Saturday songs, my own original stuff. I think it totally reflects my sense of
style, and it’s very on-trend.
‘I’m really proud of it. I’m a little overwhelmed
to be honest,’ gushed the mother-of-two. ‘I just love it when I’m on stage with the
guitar, I just feel so powerful when I’m in my heels.’ Read more and

About Una Healy
Una
is known as one-fifth of leading girl group, The Saturdays. The multi-platinum selling band have sold over 5
million records worldwide, scored
13
Top 10 singles (including UK #1 single 'What About Us' feat Sean Paul), 5 Top
10 albums and embarked on 4 nationwide headline tours and starred in 3
primetime TV series, including ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ for E! which aired in
over 40 countries including the US.
Music
was always around Una. Her uncle is Country and Irish legend Declan Nerney and her mother was
semi-professional singer and guitar player. It was her mother who first gave
her a guitar and taught her a few chords. Una learned to play Whitney Houston’s
I Will Always Love You and then began experimenting with her own compositions.
Notebooks and a dictaphone sat by her bed, rapidly filling with words and
melodies that helped process the trials of teenage life: a song for her
recently passed grandfather, songs about being bullied, songs for friends who’d
had their hearts broken.
Around
that time, she saw Sheryl Crow performing All I Wanna Do on TV. “I thought,
“That’s exactly what I wanna do’,” she says. As her ambitions took shape, she
continued writing through school, acing music exams by performing her own
songs. She tried to get through university but dropped out twice, quitting
courses in teaching and nursing because the of pull of singing and songwriting
was too strong. Most evenings were spent loading her guitar and PA system into
the back of her Honda Civic, performing at any Tipperary venue that would have
her.
In
2017, Una signed to Decca Records (hoping
to echo the folksy Celtic music she grew up with) and released her first single
'Stay
My Love' (cowritten with Amy Wadge), a duet with Sam Palladio, British born star of US TV drama Nashville. Una
released her debut solo album ‘The Waiting Game’ on Feb 10, 2017.
She
featured on a duet version of Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn't Know”.
Released on Sept 8, 2017 (UK iTunes) it made a debut at #4 on
the UK Country iTunes chart.
She
has performed at both the C2C Country To
Country Festivals in both London (2017 & 2018) and Dublin when she appeared
on the Spotlight Stage on 12th March 2017, opening for Reba McEntire.
On
her own, Una has also taken part in TV shows such as Splash and became a judge
on ITV's Let’s Get Gold. She has also hosted her own TV show in Ireland ‘Una’s
Dream Ticket’ and became a judge on The Voice of Ireland, where she became the
winning mentor in her first year on the show. Most recently, Una had her own
Opry Dhoir TV special on TG4 in Ireland, and also took part in BBC’s And
They’re Off For Sport Relief.
2018
is set to be another huge year for Una. She played a headline slot at Belfast’s
Nashville Songwriters Festival and released her new single 'Never See Me Cry' (out
March 30) and embarks across the UK and Ireland for her first ever solo tour
'The Voice Inside Of Me' tour in June. Tickets available from Ticketmaster UK
