The writers and publishers of country’s most-performed songs of the past year were honored Monday (Nov 12, 2018) at the 56th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, held at Nashville’s Renaissance Hotel.

Chairman of the Board/Pres. Paul Williams and producer/songwriter Jesse Frasure
presented Ashley
Gorley with his sixth Songwriter of the Year award – making
him the only ASCAP writer to achieve this feat in Country music. Gorley was
honored for six chart-topping songs: “A Girl Like You,” “Black,”
“Do
I Make You Wanna,” “Fix A Drink,” “Marry Me” and “Unforgettable.”

Miller (“Don’t Tell Me”).
Song of the Year was Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” and Hunt
performed it with co-writers Zach Crowell and Josh Osborne.
