MORE
ABOUT LISA THÖRNQVIST: Lisa Thörnqvist, a Swedish country artist, scriptwriter, and
director, has captivated audiences worldwide with her passion for music and
storytelling. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, pursuing a career
in music and artistic creativity. Her journey has spanned continents, with
performances in England and Argentina at multiple venues and festivals. A
notable highlight was performing at South America's largest country festival,
the San Pedro Country Festival, drawing a crowd of over 60,000.
Her
passion for music began at the young age of four years old as she was
captivated by the legendary music group ABBA. As Lisa grew into her teen years,
she gravitated to mainstream pop, including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney
Houston, Fleetwood Mac, and many more.
Lisa
found her voice through iconic female singers who led a path toward introducing
country music into mainstream pop. One of her biggest country music influences
has always been Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland). “I heard a song by Sugarland on
the radio in 2014, “Stuck Like Glue,” living in Sweden, although at that time,
and never heard of that band before.
I started to look into their music and was
hooked by Jennifer. I was taken aback by her energy on stage and her passionate
delivery of her vocals, and I connected immediately.
In
2016, Lisa embarked on her first journey to Nashville, TN, and never looked
back. Bringing her experience, musicality (piano and guitar), and inspiration
from other female artists, Lisa has melded into the music city landscape as she
continues to pursue her ambition to follow in her icons' footsteps.
An
interesting aspect of Lisa is her multi-creative outlets. She has
successfully solidified herself as an up-and-coming filmmaker with multiple
nominations and wins under her belt. Her film revolves predominantly
around the music industry. It is inspiring to watch her create her music while
simultaneously paying homage to the music community.
In 2024, she signed an artist development deal with Heart Songs Music Group
(Nashville, TN) and recently signed a public relations deal with their sister
company (Publicity Nation). Lisa will be releasing her second song, “Big Hurt,”
on March 14, 2025.
