Katy Hurt announces Rather Be release and upcoming live shows

UK country/rock artist Katy Hurt is back with a sassy, no-nonsense anthem in her new single, “Rather Be,” out March 7th. Packed with confidence, classic country humour, and fearless energy, this fiery track is a bold statement to anyone, boss or boyfriend, who underestimates you—the kind of thing you wish you could say out loud but never normally do.

Co-written with Gab Zsapka, recorded at Stereobus Recording in Winnipeg, and produced by Juno Award-winning Murray Pulver, “Rather Be” delivers girl power with an edge, proving once again why Katy is one to watch. The 7th single from her highly anticipated and upcoming debut album, following on from the great success of “Seasons” featuring Joey Landreth, which was released on January 24th and has been featured on Apple & Amazon official playlists and was single of the week on Absolute Radio Country.

Artist Bio
Born in London and raised in the US, Katy Hurt was drawn to the sounds of Country, Americana, and Southern Rock from a young age, inspired by legends such as Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, The Eagles, and Patsy Cline.
Since her debut in 2016, she has built a reputation as one of the most exciting voices in UK country, releasing a string of critically acclaimed singles and EPs that showcase her versatile range and dynamic songwriting.

Her talent has earned her multiple UK Country Music Spotlight Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Best EP, Best Song, and Best Video. A seasoned live performer, Katy has toured extensively across the UK, Canada, and beyond, gracing the stages of major festivals such as Country 2 Country at the O2 Arena, Pilton Party on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, and the Isle of Wight Festival.

Her time in Canada—where she now considers a second home—deeply influenced her sound, leading to a series of standout singles like "Sounds Good In A Bar" and "Wish I Could Give You Up", both of which hit Number 1 on the UK iTunes charts upon release and earned radio play on CBC, Sirius XM, KIX Australia, and Amazon Music playlists.
Katy’s upcoming debut album, produced by Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, The Bros. Landreth), is her most personal and ambitious work yet. Her latest releases have continued to gain recognition, with her single “Face to Face” featured in the 2024 movie "Slingshot" starring Casey Affleck and Laurence Fishburne.
