(20 April 2018) Charley Crockett - Lonesome as a Shadow (Son of
Davy)
12 Tracks/ Time: 30:08 Folk
The release of LONESOME AS A SHADOW culminates a series of breakthrough years for Crockett following the release of 2015’s A Stolen Jewel and 2016’s In The Night which received widespread critical acclaim and earned him a Dallas Observer Music Award for “Best Blues Act.” Following the releases, Rolling Stone included Crockett as one of their “10 Artists You Should Know” while Wide Open Country described him as, “A honky tonk hero for the modern era.”
Most recently, in 2017, Crockett released a collection
of his favorite honky tonk songs, entitled Charley Crockett presents Lil G.L.'s
Honky Tonk Jubilee. The album features songs originally performed by Hank
Williams, Ernest Tubb, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, Roy Acuff, Webb Pierce and
other great heroes of honky tonk.
