Blurb: The contagious singalong single has already become a firm fan favourite, with fans chanting the chorus during their live performances.
“Echo is a definitely one of our more Country-pop tracks and
inspired by the fun we had in Nashville. It’s the sort of song you have blaring
in the car with the soft top down, singing along at the top of your voice.
There’s
a line in the song about ‘Ripples in a Coffee Cup’ which is a reference to that
famous scene in Jurassic Park, but also sums up the feel good vibes of this
track – it’s just echoes around you until you sing along.” Ben and Crissie, The Shires
The
band release the single ahead of their appearance at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, where
they will be supporting Michael Bublé
(Fri 13th July). Further cementing their place as the UK’s most successful
Country Music act, it had been previously announced that Shania Twain has handpicked the band to appear as special guests at
her UK Arena tour, beginning September. The tour will follow a headline
appearance at Country Music festival, The Long Road.
The
release of ‘Echo‘ continues their “incredible success” *, with their third
album ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE
entering the UK Album Chart at No.3 (14,319
units) pushing George Ezra to 4th place, The Shires entered the chart above
rapper ‘Nines’, ‘Sting & Shaggy’ and American rock band ‘Black Stone
Cherry’. The album is now on track to become their third gold album in 4 years
– an accolade in the UK shared only by TV driven acts, including One Direction,
Olly Murs and Little Mix.
Accidentally
On Purpose topped the first two sales flashes of the debut week but their
chances of becoming the second home-grown country act to have a No.1 album –
following Ward Thomas in 2016 – evaporated as the week progressed.
Playing
Bigger Venues but Selling Less Albums
* Previous

previous weeks No.89 (700 estimated units; 10-week total 34,500; chart run
3-14-32-41-41-32-33-54-89-below 100). It was placed at No.2 on UK Country

total of 48,500 (Chart Run: 3-7-14-27-36-45-43-45-43-48).
With over 55 reviews of the album, including 4 Star reviews (1 star in Country Music People), and a historic performance at the Royal Albert Hall under their belt – which saw them become the first UK Country act to ever headline the venue – The Shires, are said to be “leading the charge for the Country music takeover here in the UK”.
