Billboard Top 200 / Country Album Chart News (Chart issue week of July 20, 2019)

The Billboard 200 chart measures multi-metric album consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

'Revenge of the Dreamers III' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
Revenge of the Dreamers III opened at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart (BB200), earning 115,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 11, according to Nielsen Music.
Of that sum, 23,000 were in album sales. The multi-act 18-track hip-hop project boasted the Dreamville label’s roster of acts, including Dreamville chief J. Cole on eight songs.

Billboard Top Country Albums (Chart issue week of July 20, 2019)
Top Country Albums now ranks the most popular country albums of the week, as compiled by Nielsen Music, based on multi-metric consumption (blending traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA)).
10 digital track sales from an album = 1 track equivalent album (TEA) “sale”
1,500 on demand song streams from an album to one streaming equivalent album (SEA) “sale”.
Nielsen Music compiles the sales and streaming data. Billboard continues to publish pure album sales charts (subscription to billboard biz ), exclusively comprising Nielsen’s sales data.

Again ranked #2 on Country Album Sales and #33 on all-genre Top Album Sales based on consumption units Luke Combs with THIS ONE’S FOR YOU (River House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville) remained at No.1 (#13-15 Billboard 200; 2,500 sales; 110-week total 498,500) to top the summit for a 41st non-consecutive week.

It reigned with 22,000 equivalent album units earned (down 11%) in the week ending July 11, according to Nielsen Music.
The set ties Garth Brooks’ No Fences, which posted 41 weeks atop the chart starting in October 1990, as the third-longest-leading album since the list launched in 1964. Just two titles have spent more time at No. 1: Shania Twain’s Come On Over, which dominated for 50 weeks beginning in November 1997, and Randy Travis’ Always & Forever, which ruled for 43 weeks starting in June 1987.
Since its release on June 2, 2017, This One’s for You has earned 2.3 million equivalent album units, with 499,000 in traditional album sales.
The set previously made history when Combs became the first artist to send his first five entries on Country Airplay, all from the album, to No. 1, between May 2017 and this April: “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours,” “One Number Away,” “She Got the Best of Me” and “Beautiful Crazy.”

Combs’ new five-track EP THE PREQUEL (River House/Columbia Nashville/ Sony Music Nashville) held at No.3 (#29-31 BB200; 14,000 units, down 14% | 1,500 sales; 5-week total 32,500). On Country Airplay “Beer Never Broke My Heart” pushed 5-3 for a new high (32.8 million impressions, up 1%).
