Dakota Danielle - One Day Closer to You (Single)
Label: Self Release
Time: 3:23
Audio:
Sounds Like Nashville premiered the track with an exclusive first listen: “This heart wrenching ballad will stop you in your tracks.”
Following
the unexpected loss of her mother last year, the (now) 26-year-old turned to
writing as a source of expression and healing. She filled her mother's role as
caretaker to her father, who was battling stage four lung cancer. When she lost
her father last month, this song took on a profound meaning.
Stripped
down with simply an acoustic guitar, piano and fiddle melody, vulnerability
spills from Dakota Danielle’s silky smooth vocals.
"One
Day Closer To You" reveals the raw and painful journey of healing while
offering comfort in the idea of reuniting with late loved ones. It evokes a
powerful response for anyone who has experienced loss.
Dakota
Danielle kicked off release weekend with a performance at Dollywood “New Faces
of Country.” She is slated to perform “One Day Closer To You” on WVLT News at 4 in Knoxville today.
