CHATTERERS: Manchester Named And Shamed:
Why is it now a thing to attend a gig and people around you talk incessantly
while the show is ongoing? Honestly last night we attended Kiefer Sutherland in
Manchester, the amount of chatter around me was so distracting. You pay
good money to hear the music and their stories, not what a bad week in work 'Annie

What is a Ruhk? The original spelling of “rook,” the
word has been used in several different contexts, used to refer to everything
from the popular chess piece to chariots in Persia, and most famously, the
ominous black bird of death and misery. In roots music, “the Ruhks”
appropriately refers to the Band of Ruhks, a group of bluegrass veterans whose
music has the ability to exhibit chess-like skill, the fiery speed of a
chariot, or the authority of a bird of prey.
Comprised of Ronnie Bowman (bass), Kenny Smith
(guitar), Don Rigsby (mandolin) and Brian Fesler (banjo), Band of Ruhks is a

"If it seems like Nashville's well of talented
singer-songwriters is never-ending, that's probably because it is. And Mercy
Bell, living in Music City by way of Boston and New York City, is another
distinct voice with a potent, progressive take on emotive, modern folk. It's a
perspective clear on her new song "Home," where Bell confesses to the
coping mechanisms that have let her avoid life's harshest moments, and a path
to redemption that's better late than never. "Could you come pick me
up?" she sings in gorgeous harmonies and strings courtesy of Larissa
Maestro and Kristin Weber, two of the town's most gifted instrumentalists.
"Forget the years that I've spent drunk." With a vibrato that's as
strong as it is vulnerable, Bell makes it easy to forgive her trespasses.

Moore and producer Tim Prottey-Jones (The Wandering Hearts, The Fatherline) and
gives fans a glimpse of the kind of live show we can expect in the coming year.
After a year dedicated almost exclusively to writing Moore says “I’ve missed
performing live so much and especially with my band, so this is the perfect
song to kick off this new chapter with. I love the energy, and while it still tells
a story it’s a song we can really let rip with and have fun playing.”The
influence of Moore’s heroes are their boldest on ‘Dutch Courage’ – with its
early Miranda Lambert vibes and Ashley McBryde worthy guitar work. If you like
your Country music with a side of grit and sass this is the single for you. - BCMA

Debut #151 UK Country iTunes Singles Chart, #103, then off the top 200
The song is a massive departure from Crazy to You from a lyrical aspect,
in that it reflects the other side of a relationship as opposed to the strong
feelings you encounter when things are going well.
Speaking about the song, Paris explained that it sums up how hard it can
be to let go, even though you know it is probably the best thing to do, while
the song title itself works as a metaphor for floating around without aim.- Maverick

New UK Country Music Artist Ross Macintyre
Announces Debut Single “October Skies”
Ross Macintyre reveals his debut single - an emotive and catchy song
about missing a loved one titled “October Skies”.
The song sees Ross remembering the most treasured times with a loved one
including autumnal walks under October skies. As the nights draw in and couples
start to ‘cosy up’, it’s a perfect time to reflect on life during this
beautiful, seasonal change.
“I love this song because it captures the essence of love that people
generally overlook. Living in London, the city’s vibrant energy can easily
sweep you into parties, social events and late nights. Whilst this is exciting,
spending time with a partner, taking walks together and enjoying the simple
qualities in life are equally, if not more, rewarding. I cannot think of a
better time than October to embrace this. The orange, amber colours of the
trees and skies are quite magical.”
Ross is a huge fan of country music for its sounds and stories, and
raises awareness of the genre as Founder of community group ‘Play That Country
Music’, which now has 1000 active members. To celebrate this milestone, Ross
takes his passion to another level by releasing his own music material.
“In truth it’s a dream of mine to be a music artist, and I’ve struggled
with the idea of stepping into the limelight for years. Life gets in the way,
which is actually the theme I capture in ‘October Skies’. I’m no longer
accepting excuses and it’s time to showcase my creativity. There’s plenty more
music to come!”

Show, Sarah will be performing a mixture of old & new songs in addition
to traditional Christmas records to celebrate the winter season.
‘Leave The Pieces’ is one of the tracks specially
curated and arranged from ‘The Campfire Sessions’ that represents an important
moment in Sarah’s life; when she has felt inspired, the soundtrack to a life
changing moment, or a nostalgic call back to her childhood. Naming the series
as such was a conscious decision by Sarah, “The name "Campfire Sessions"
evokes a visual of sitting around a fire playing these to my friends. It brings me back to my childhood when I
started with just a guitar, playing my tunes for anyone who would listen! These
are acoustic covers of some of my favorite songs that hold special meaning to
me or have influenced me at a time in my life. Most will have been hit songs
when they were first released, although maybe not so well known now, so I'm
really excited to be introducing them to my fans, done in my own way!”

Childers Wants to Take the Country Music Lunch Table Back
Tyler Childers speaking his mind and not holding back!
As many may remember, in 2018 when Tyler Childers was
accepting his Americana Music Association award for Best New Artist, he
lambasted Americana term as “…ain’t no part of ‘nothin,” and a distraction from
the problems facing country. When asked about how today’s actual country music
is often sifted to Americana, Childers responded,
“That’s true, and also, it lessens the agenda for
Americana. It weakens the genre over time. What I’ve done with my last two
albums is country. I feel that in my heart. What Margo [Price] has done in the
past is country. What Kelsey Waldon’s doing is country. What a lot of these
artists are doing is country, but we’ve all been pushed over by the wayside
into Americana….Read more at Saving Country Music
