Robust guitar riffs and drum beats synonymous with blues and roots immediately make an introduction, with little time before Ruby's signature Americana-roots tinged vocals glide in. With alignments to artists Lanie Lane, Lindi Ortega & Lera Lynn'Slave' is a vintage blues and rock'n'roll infused track with a modern spin.

The single was inspired by her own turmoils of working for 'the man', and the feelings of displeasure in aspects of her personal life.
"‘Slave’ is about hating my day job. I also felt like a slave to the mundanity of day-to-day life and felt tied down to people and unsuccessful relationships", explains Ruby.
