I may not be pure, but I’m as simple as they come! This new Pure & Simple project is really special to me because I’m taking my fans back to my roots. I feel like these songs have a pure, tender side and we didn’t go overboard with arrangements. I’m so glad we’ve teamed up with our friends at Sony to get this album out to the fans,” said Dolly Parton.

Remarked Doug Morris, CEO, Sony Music Entertainment, “Dolly Parton is a national treasure and an iconic singer/songwriter. We are thrilled to be expanding our successful relationship with her through this new global agreement. We are very proud to call her a member of the Sony Music family.”

“This is a special reunion for Dolly, RCA Nashville and for me personally,” commented Randy Goodman, Chairman and CEO, Sony Music Nashville. “Our entire Sony Music Nashville team is elated.” Continues Goodman, “We have a firm foundation of Dolly’s incredible catalog of hits on RCA Nashville as well as Columbia Nashville.”

Dolly Parton, co-producer and songwriter on Pure & Simple, also revealed the album’s cover art and track listing today (see below).
The release contains the 12-track "Pure & Simple" album on the first disc, and the incredible Glastonbury Live Set from 2014.

The renowned songwriter produced Pure & Simple herself, writing the songs in what she calls her “little old bitty booth” at her publishing company.

“’Pure & Simple’ is probably gonna be a single,” Parton said in Toronto during a recent press conference. “There’s another one they’re talking about shipping out as a single to hopefully get it played on the radio called ‘Standing Outside Your Door’; it’s a fun little romantic thing.”

Featuring 10 songs (CD1), the prolific writer said, “I always do so many more songs than we need and it’s always so hard to have to leave them off the album.”

However, some of the songs, such as “Tomorrow Is Forever” and “Say Forever You’ll Be Mine,” were recorded and released in the 70s with Porter Wagoner. Parton, 70, named it Pure & Simple because her current 60-plus date North American tour is a stripped-down configuration with the singer playing up to nine of the instruments herself, including the saxophone…Read More at Billboard:

Dolly Parton Clarifies: ‘I Have Not Endorsed Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump’

On July 5, 2016 Dolly Parton clarified comments taken out of context during a recent interview that included a question about the 2016 presidential election.
Parton released the following statement:

Text: "This morning while I was watching the news I saw many reports that I had endorsed Hillary Clinton. My comment about supporting a woman in the White House was taken out of context. I have not endorsed Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump. I try not to get political but if I am, I might as well just run myself 'cause I've got the hair for it, it's huge, and they could always use more boobs in the race. But seriously, I have not decided who I'm voting for, but no matter what we're gonna be suffering from PMS, Presidential Mood Swings." -- Dolly Parton
